  1. As someone posted earlier, same thing happened in Danville years ago. Coach terminated and the super never gave any public statement outside of "Going in a different direction." I feel bad for Wayne County because I've had something like this happen to my own team.
  2. Yeah, I thought I remembered that they were already playing! Thanks for the clarification.
  3. I agree with others that this story stinks. I have zero confidence in Rob Manfred to lead this investigation.
  4. At least the ship's captain/crew got the mayday call out before the catastrophe took place. Going to be a nightmare for East Coast supply chains for a while.
  5. Just sad. Hoping this can resume someday. Not getting a story about this is why I miss the decline of the Advocate Messenger.
  6. The stars might finally align for Donovan. His NBA tenure isn't that great but I've read where the Chicago ownership likes him so it doesn't seem like his job is in jeopardy. I know he was itching to bounce his last few years at Florida but couldn't because he was barred from negotiating with an NBA team when he decided to get out of his agreement to coach the Orlando Magic. I just don't know if he wants to deal with the constant portal and NIL stuff.
  7. And that's a fair view but I think the way that contract is structured was still insane. It basically gave Calipari complete power over the AD and became his own boss. Barnhart got taken to the cleaners and this isn't the first time he's made questionable contracts in the athletic department.
  8. This is why I've been saying the last few years that Mitch Barnhart needs to be on the hot seat. Giving a coach that kind of deal was insane.
  9. Rupp Rafters crashed at the end of the game. I don't see how Calipari survives this. Fans are going to be in open revolt. It's unacceptable to lose to a #15 and #14 seed in 2 out of the last 3 NCAA tournaments. This team is lucky they even beat Providence last year! People talk about Reed as a lottery pick. Sorry, but I'm not seeing it. Name me ONE person in the Association that he can actually guard. He played scared out of his wits in the SEC and NCAA tournaments. If a GM takes him that high, they are going to get fired.
  10. I remember laughing at people back then. In the Tubby days people were on the verge of a riot in Rupp. Just imagine what they would do with "Bennett ball."
  11. Sad. That's like half the invited field declined.
  12. Tony Bennett's team hasn't won a tournament game since that miracle run of finishes got them a title in 2019.
  13. I can see New Mexico beating Clemson but beating Baylor? I don't see that happening.
  14. My hot take is there might not be a double digit Sweet 16 team. With so many bid steals I think the seeds that are 11-15 are weaker than the past. If I had to pick one, McNeese is a trendy pick and probably the one I would go with.
