10 Good
  1. Freshman PG Gerald Gray, senior post player Drew Glass, senior wing Greg Davidson, and junior shooter Brandon Cranford gives PRP 7 good players (along with excellent and experienced and talented players like Gaines, Stevenson, and Raheem); not the same talent level they have had over the past five years, but they will be plenty good and should be there at the end battling for a regional title.
  2. Delvon Dunn is the younger brother of UL defensive tackle Brandon Dunn and is a beast. If PRP can develop a passing game, Dunn will be hard to handle.
  3. And Stan Hardin (Fairdale basketball, 2 titles) was just inducted, giving basketball coaches 6 spots in the HOF. Billy Hicks and Dale Mabrey will be automatic inductees in the not-to-distant-future.
  4. He appears to be the first. Mac Harrison ought to be nominated immediately for his 1000+ wins and 4 titles. Coach Krumpelbeck at Cov Cath and Don Richardson from Madison Central are certainly worthy with 900+ wins and each winning a state title. 4 football coaches have been inducted (Bob Schneider -- 1 title and 4 runners-up at New Cath; Paulie Miller -- 4 titles at Flaget; Johnny Miehaus -- 3 titles at St. Xavier; and Garnis Martin -- 3 titles at Bardstown) 5 basketball coaches have been inducted (ST Roach -- integration pioneer at Dunbar in the 1950s whose teams made 6 Sweet 16 trips in 8 years after being allowed to play; William Kean -- legendary Central coach who was winningest HS coach in Kentucky until recently being passed by Billy Hicks; Letcher Norton -- Clark County; Ralph Carlisle -- 3 titles at Lafayette; Bobby Keith -- 1 title and 2 runners up at Clay County)
  5. South Laurel, Hazard, and Johnson Central still playing. Amazing. There seem to be several sophomores (and younger) on these teams as well.
  6. This is a significant upset because I have seen McCracken Co. play and thought they would go deep. Perhaps Hazard is one of the best teams to come out of the mountains in a long while.
  7. Two more Male errors = another run. 5 errors for Male. Should be six. Male down to its last out.
  8. Two more Male errors lead to another unearned Trinity run. Male has horrible body language right now. 7-3 Trinity in bottom of the sixth.
  9. Trinity 6, Male 3 in bottom of fifth. Male is struggling and seems to have overlooked Trinity (with 15 losses)
  10. Huge upset. BE had the pitching to win the 6th and go deep in Sweet 16. Cheatham from Holy Cross is a good pitcher, though, and BE struggles to score runs.
  11. What about Terrance Moorman, former Doss player and current Western coach?
  12. KC is really good. Now one wonders how many of the Doss juniors will return. Hate to see a school drag down such a good guy and cause him to leave. Fairdale and Doss have massive coaching shoes to fill. Fairdale has good community support though, while Doss has none. I thought Doss would be the favorite in the 6th next year. Now, it's gotta be Bullitt East.
  13. It is very early, but I believe the 7th Region has a strong state championship contender in St. X this year. Male is also up there.
  14. This is unbelievable, but the answer to the question "How many state championships have Ballard, Trinity, Male, and Eastern won in baseball since 1944?" is ZERO! Indeed, the only current 7th Region team to win a state championship in baseball since 1963 is St. Xavier -- one in 1981. Given the quality of players in that region, you would think that some more banners would have been hung. Eastern has never won a single 7th Region title.
  15. BC's lefthanded pitcher (Ganns) threw well after spraining his ankle in game 1 against Campbellsville while running the bases. PRP got all the calls from the umpires. This was more like a 2-1 or 3-1 game.
