Mr. Sixer replied to a thread Tate Martell in College Football
Miami does seem to fit his personality and honestly he was unproven as a thrower at Ohio State. Not saying he could not throw just that he was unproven. The package that he was used in at Ohio State never posed a threat of him throwing the ball so most teams would simply load the box when he came in knowing it would be running play. Regardless, good luck to him as Ohio State will be just fine. And yes, that includes whether Justin Fields...

Same old story year in and year out. Really should just call it the All-Lex/Lou team.

Good post and I agree it doesn’t matter because they won’t play 10X, they will play twice. I just disagree that CCH will win the next meeting. I can’t imagine Cooper having another qtr like they had in the 3rd last night and I believe Walters will find his rhythm that he had before missing the last nearly three weeks. However, that is why they play the game. Looking for another epic 9th regional and I hope these two are one the court at the end...

Interesting and I’m a little surprised. Did he blow some calls, never make any calls against Cooper? What was your major issue? James is one of the BEST officials in the entire state and has been recognized for it and he’s clearly the best official in the 9th as well as refs college games. I’ve watched him ref for over 20 years and while all refs miss a call or two I’ve never known him to be “in” someone’s camp.

Not sure but I know Cooper was allotted 200 tickets which were sold on Wednesday then I saw in a CCH thread that they were Pre-selling tickets on Thursday. Just have a feeling that a lot will be turned away if they don’t have a ticket already.

I would think if you don’t have a ticket by now you probably won’t get in. Tickets were sold at both schools over the last two days.

I wouldn't read too much into the '09 stat as that would be the first season for Cooper and they were running around with a bunch of freshmen and sophomores playing varsity but since then these teams have had some good battles at CCH. I expect tomorrow will be another good one.

If Josh Baker plays like he played two summers ago on the AAU circuit with KY Select he could be the piece that puts Cooper on top in this one. His biggest issue has been consistency but certainly he is one of those players that "fly under the radar" and has a big game and in the end many say they didn't see that coming. He has the capability to do it inside and out but again, consistency has been the big issue this season.

Won't make any predictions but will note that CCH is a very very tough place to play just simply because it's so small and it gives them a huge home court advantage with their fans. However, if Cooper does what they do defensively AND puts out similar production offensively that they did vs. SK they will win this game. The Jags have learned how to win without a notable superstar or big name player and frankly this has them playing even better...

Hoping for one more coaching change but I don't think it's going to happen. I think it's time for Studrawa to be replaced. The OL has been avg. at best and the development is leaving a lot to be desired. The OL will determine how good or how bad OSU will be next year. It will not be the QB position like many think, it will be the OL in my opinion. The defense returns 10 starters so they should be pretty solid with the new coaches on that...

After several years of having big time super stars, this year’s Cooper squad is the epitome of team ball and, as hard as it is to believe, their defensive intensity has increased and when they get offensive production like tonite they are going very tough to beat. Good luck to SK in the 8th and good luck to Jags as they look to capture the 9th!

Defense, Defense, Defense! Like I said earlier, I didn’t see the Jags giving up 78 points. But it is only halftime so anything is possible I guess.

Well one thing for certain; Cooper will not change who they are. They do what they do and whether it's boring, as some put it, it is what it is and if grinding out ugly wins accomplishes the goal so be it. Two contrasting style for sure.

If he gets Al Williams to take over the LB duties they will have a pretty good lineup even it does mean we took 2 coaches from TTUN!

Additionally, I thought Bama's problems started in the 2nd half of the Oklahoma game. Turnovers, penalties and lack of scoring in their last 6 quarters spelled their demise. They simple just didn't look prepared and I was surprised that they waited so long to give Hurts as shot, not that it would have made a difference. Last year they pulled the trigger at halftime on the QB switch. Putting Hurts in late in the game when it was practically...

Alabama was clearly outcoached and I thought it was a telling moment when they interviewed Saban going into the half that he admitted that Clemson was taking advantage of some things that other teams had had success against them earlier in the season and Saban admitted that they had not prepared/practiced for! That is clear preparation, one that did their homework and one that didn't. I had Clemson winning by 7-10 but never thought it...

Won't split hairs but I count Cooper's win at Elder as huge as it is one of the toughest places to play in the entire region along with the UHA game, which was fairly close game until mid-4th qtr, albeit a loss as my differentiators schedule wise. However, as I stated earlier, this is why they play the games. SK puts up a lot of points and Cooper doesn't give up many so something will give one way or the other, may the best team win. ...

Valid point but I'll counter that with Cooper has only given up over 50 points 4 times this year and against better competition and through 15 games is only giving up 46pts/game. Either SK is going to shoot lights out or Cooper will do their usual and put the clamps down like they do against most. It could happen but I'll be very surprised if they give up 78 points in this game. Something will give I would say.

Looking at the schedules of the two teams and the fact that they seem to have had 2 common opponents in Conner and the team from Deltona, Fl. I will agree that Cooper should win this game by solid margin. Cooper's schedule of taking on and beating Elder on the road, Beechwood and a somewhat close loss to UHA I believe make them a little more battle tested and playing at home is a bonus for the Jags IMO even without Walters. Cooper's defense is...

Former Cooper WR Dante’ Hendrix has been named a 1st Team Freshman All-American by Phil Steele’s Post Season awards. Hendrix led Indiana State in receiving with 47 catches for 681 yards and 4 TDs finishing 7th in the MVFC among all WRs. Indiana State was 0-11 in 2017 and 7-4 in 2018 and finished 3rd in arguably the toughest conference in FCS.

I’m almost certain he will be a guard. Michael made the move to center to help the team because the other true centers frankly couldn’t get the job done. He’s a natural guard and should be evaluated at that position. He leaves for Florida on Monday for training and prep for the combine. Wishing him the absolute best. As a side note, even though he lives in Michigan, he wants to come back to NKY this summer and help with a camp at the...

As long as they don't have another annual "laying of the egg" vs an unranked opponent I think they will be ok. Just trying to be optimistic but I like the fact they are home vs. MSU, Wisconsin, and Penn St. I do worry slightly about Nebraska who is a sleeper and Northwestern being on the road. Getting the right coaches in place is going to be huge.

Should be some good competition in Columbus and I can't wait. With nearly the entire defense back with another year of experience and hopefully a new DC they should be challenge for league again, already got rid of Grinch from a safety perspective. Offense is the question mark with Jordan and Prince gone from the line (the latter thank goodness), virtually all of the WRs and for sure Haskins. However, the schedule is fitting in 2019 for a...

Taking Newport. I could see Harding having a monster night and with it being at home the Wildcats just may have enough to get it done even with missing a key players.
