Ryle will need tighten up the defense to make a considerable run in the playoffs. They are scoring a lot but giving up a lot as well. They have the offense clicking it appears.

Congrats to Ryle but I have to ask a serious question of both of these teams. Do either of them have a defense that can make a run in the playoffs? I understand that both can score, especially with Chisholm being virtually unstoppable, but at some point you have to stop someone. I want all the NKY teams to do well but they both are giving up a lot of points.

Just as I predicted! Congrats to the Young Jags on getting the 2 seed and getting to host a playoff game! Congrats to the players, Coach Borchers and staff for fighting all season, staying the course and continuing to get better down the stretch. Good luck the rest of the way!!

I only saw him play once this summer and that was against Baker and Hampton's team but he definitely got a lot better. He certainly has the size to be a factor adding additional depth.

I can assure you he is not behind Ollier (totally different players/positions) and I am not aware how Shidler's and Houston's summer ball went but I do know that Baker will be a force based upon watching him the majority of the summer with KY Select. All four players will be solid contributors and while I don't worry so much with who's on the floor at the start of the game but more at the end of the game, I will be somewhat surprised if Baker...

Understand. Sully has a way of getting the absolute most out of his players so new players are always welcome as long as the want to play defense lol. Regarding Baker, many are going to be surprised because he in no way is the same player he finished as last year. He was pushed hard by his AAU coaches this summer and he was forced to become a totally different player being more athletic, shooting the 3 and a force around the rim. Sully...

I was thinking the exact same thing. Cooper's projected starters (IMO) are going to be: Kunkle McNeil Runion Walters (part-time starter last year) Baker (or Holy Cross transfer Houston) Who is he replacing?

Cooper, not Copper, has progressively gotten better over the last 3 weeks and say what you will about who’s offense is more refined, Conner giving up 54 points in it’s last 2 games says a little bit more to me from defensive standpoint. This team will go as the freshman QB goes and he’s continuing to develop so I’ll take the young Jags in an upset against its’ bitter rival and sneaking in to the #2 spot to host a playoff game.

I will go ahead and say that Boone WILL take that #2 spot in the 33rd and may give Cooper a run for their money. I watched Haynes nearly all summer and neither Cooper nor Conner match up well with him. I know he’s only one player but he will pose some problems for both schools.

No disrespect but I said last week after they let Cooper hang around and turn the ball over 5 times that this is not a dominant team. They are good but not dominant and dominant teams go deep into the playoffs. Conner may very well win this game.

My assumption as I am not an official is that because that pass took place BEHIND the original LOS is that the linemen can be down field on a pass thrown backwards. I assume that if that pass had been dropped it would have been a live ball since, in theory, it would have been a lateral and could have been recovered by Boone. As for the hits that Lee took, that is simply the way the young man has played all of his life. He's a tough kid but...

Congrats to the Jags on getting their first W. Mentally this will prepare them for their other rival next week. This team is young and you can see flashes of future success. I said this summer that Jeremiah Lee was gonna be special and many are now seeing just what the freshman can do.

Frankly I don't think it matters. CJ and AK have two different games and BOTH are excellent players. One was recruited much heavier than the other, it is what it is, and I am sure both will have solid college careers. Bottom line is both will have to lead their respective teams and both will "potentially" will have to guard one another at some point when they do meet and they will get at each other when they do but neither is "lockdown"...

Should be an interesting 9th. It will be good to see the Cooper/CCH at NKU. Love seeing top games on the bigger floor.

Kinda funny that so many can find so much fault with Cooper for “hanging” with and causing 5 turnovers on the team that many said would simply walk all over them. Sure they won by 20 as they should have but to let an inexperienced, undersized team hang around says more to me about Ryle than what Cooper did or didn’t do. Congrats to Ryle as I pull for all NKY teams but CCH is still the only team I see making a deep run in the playoffs from NKY....

Yes he did. Played for KY Select and really had a breakout summer for him. I believe he also went to Bolus camp also and was name most outstanding player there which is probably how he showed up on his list. As I stated, he’s probably not top 15 yet but he’s certainly one to keep an eye on.

No list really matters frankly. Adam Kunkle is on just about everyone’s list except this one. I will say that Ethan Haynes could certainly be a top 15 player by seasons end. He had a huge summer which put him on many radars but as of today I don’t think he’s a top 15 player. Good luck to all the Ky players this season!

I think if many go back and look at last year’s comments CCH was just as loaded if not more then and people were ready to punch their ticket the Rupp, and then the 2nd half of the regional finals happened. Houston is an excellent addition and just because Spencer didn’t play much JV at CCH means very little to me as I’m am sure there many solid players at CCH that could contribute elsewhere. Spencer is nearly 6’4” and strong and will provide a...

Cooper will be a heavy underdog and outmanned again but I loved the energy they brought vs. Dixie and the freshman QB Lee is exciting to watch and will pose some problems for Ryle when he’s in the open field. Cooper will have to load the box and force Ryle to throw the ball in order to have a chance as not many have slowed Chism as he is tough. Expect anything in the 2017 Battle of Union.

Too funny!! You seem to have all the answers so I’ll ask you these questions. Cooper is 0-6 so you tell me what games they “should have” won to date? What’s your solution so I can be sure to pass it along coach Borchers? You continue to talk about the jr WRs getting more touches and I counted at least 6 balls going to each and there was limited production yet you criticize the new QB for producing more offense on the ground and nearly just as...

Congrats to Dixie. Bigger, stronger and more experienced and took care of business. Now for my perspective. I thought the Jags played very inspired and this was a great game start to finish even with the Jags being down 20-0 it was a 7 point game going into the 4th. The young QB will be something to watch over the next 3 years. He’s got the heart of a lion and competes which is exactly what the this young team needs. The pick 6 he threw wasn’t...

Houston and another player from HC. Michael Spencer who transferred from CCH will add some toughness off the bench IMO. WIth AK, Runion, McNeil and Walters (who was a part time starter last year) I think Cooper can challenge for another run at the 9th crown. If Mayer decides to play Bb for CCH there could be another great finish in the region. Newport and Boone are sleepers IMO too.

I hope the order stays the same just like it did last year until the regional finals and the Cooper Jags pull the "upset" again. CCH will be a challenge and should be the favorite with CJ and Jake but Cooper already had 3 of 5 starters returning (albeit the 2 that graduated were absolutely great) but when you add in the 3 newcomers (2 from HC and 1 from CCH) Cooper will very very deep. Another team to keep one eye on is Boone. I watched 3 of...

He is making a change at QB again, so what? The team is young, inexperienced, undersized and is 0-5 and he is looking for a spark of some sort and if it means playing a young player at the position for the possible future so be it, he obviously has nothing to lose. You obviously are not up on Cooper history but a QB named Tyler Morris was not much taller than the aforementioned QB that will be starting this Friday and he just happened to lead...
