I hope that HHS fans aren't seriously using this game as their measuring stick on being "back" or not. Any win is a good win but they did what they were expected to do, beat a very young and inexperienced, not very good Cooper team. I certainly didn't leave that game saying "wow, I am thoroughly impressed and Highlands is back". If they start out 3-0 which will have to include beating SC I would say there are on their way to being back.

Dayton will pick up a stud running back in two weeks after acclimation. Been away from the game for a couple of years but will be an excellent addition. Best of luck to both teams!

Couldn't agree more, this thread is pointless. Depends on the definition of "quality". I would certainly say Hempel, Barker, Nick West, Morgan, Morris, and Lonaker, who was one of the leaders in entire State in passing for nearly all of 2016, qualify as quality in most people's book and I'm probably missing others. There are only 4 schools in the county and one has been around only 9 years so I would say the county is doing a pretty decent job...

As I said, kudos to HHS but I think the difference is that Cooper's QB has never played the position period. Big difference.

Good win for HHS but I did not see them being overly better than last year. They had one sustained long drive for their first score which didn't come until the 2nd qtr and one big play just before half to take the lead and other than that they had short fields off of 5 INTs off qbs who had never taken a varsity snap at the position, credit to the HHS but I think everyone knows this Cooper team is very young as it appeared that nearly 14-15 of...

Mr. Sixer replied to a thread Cole Mosier in College Football
Sad news for the big man and UK. Known Cole since the 3rd grade playing in the BCPWFL where he had a couple of injuries there as a young man. Wishing him a speedy recovery and continued success whatever his future plans are.

Couldn't agree more. 99.9% of school selection is where the player, not anyone else, feels comfortable and can see himself fitting in for the next 4-5 years. Amazes me how someone outside of the player and his family can judge whether someone is making the right school choice not to mention can assess that someone's decision is premature. Best of luck AK and congrats on being Cooper's 1st D-1 basketball player! I know you'll do big things...

I was speaking hypothetically but if it's 95% or 99% does it really matter? It's clear there is no one in NKY on that level yet but since you asked I would assume the usual suspects would be pretty close (not saying beat) to the Rocks. Again I'm not disrespecting any team but if Trinity was not the "dominant" team of norm that some have indicated and they still win 52-0...well nuf said. Not knowing what teams have lost I would suspect: Male,...

Michael is in fact Cooper and will help both in football and basketball. He has never skipped a grade. He did start school early as he was 5 in the first grade.

Well if 52-0 in 3 quarters isn't impressive I don't know what else they could have done. As I said, it is what it is. Ryle doesn't have to be ashamed of anything, Trinity is on a different level than 95% of the teams in the state.

Thanks for the update and yes the Jags will be very young. They will compete hard but can't wait to see this young group in the next 2 years.

LOL. Love the exclamation point and "lastly Cooper". I had no ill will vs. Boone as it is good school. I was previously on the site based committee and the rankings were different about 3 years ago which is why I asked when did it change. All 4 schools provide a quality education and for the record all 4 schools received the "Distinguished" rating in 2015.

My question was not disparaging of Boone it was coming from being on the site base committee about 3 years ago where the rankings were different. Great to see Boone improving as all the schools provide a good education as I know students from all 4.

Just curious, when did that happen? All information I have ever seen indicates Ryle is the #1 school in the district followed by Conner and Cooper being virtually close at 2-3.

Exactly. Success of a program will in fact attract talent. As long as these players have addresses in the Cooper district there is not going to be problem with eligibility whether they previously played varsity or not. Coach Sullivan and Coach Borchers (AD) will always do things by the book not too mention the influx of new housing being constructed in the Cooper district is blowing up big-time. If you haven't taken a ride down Longbranch or...

Congrats to CJ. Met him at the Coaches Award ceremony at CCH and he seems to be a fine young man to go along with an excellent basketball player. Best of luck in the BigTen. Great to see NKY getting more players to the D1 level in Basketball and Football.
