Told people this at the beginning of the season the kid had an over the top summer and he would surprise a lot of people. The key for him is to just go play and ignore the noise coming from the sidelines. He and Rogers are players when they are allowed to just go play. Good win for BC. Jags will get it figured out I’m sure. Getting their leader back to full strength will be key down the stretch, and that’s not an excuse whatsoever. Learn...

An offer is defined in many ways depending on the level (D1, D2, D3, or NAIA) 100% full ride, partial, roster spot, etc. Key is what is in writing and nothing is official until both parties sign on the dotted line. Unfortunately, college coaches change their minds, find someone else, or the player in question suffers an injury, etc. and "things change". Recruiting is like relationships. Until things are signed, sealed and delivered everyone...

Just my opinion but I honestly think the issue here for Highlands is that teams have caught up, and in many cases past them, either by talent and in some cases coaching. I can remember a time when many teams avoided HHS like the plague or “feared” the mystique and quite honestly that is gone. Teams got better and certainly players in NKY are saying they can go play for other schools that can not only compete but beat HHS. I don’t see how staying...

Some may not agree, but don’t count out Jeremiah Lee of Cooper. After a full year of varsity as a freshman, the last half of the season at QB, he will be exciting to watch again. He’s not the proto-typical QB but he’s definitely a play-maker and Cooper’s success offensively will be centered around him.

Unfortunate that weather played a major part in this but it’s the right thing to do. It will sure up AK playing tho.

Agree with your comments. Last year Cooper did have two great scorers but McNeil missed nearly a third of those games so other players stepped up their games and scored a little more and did more on defense to get Cooper to the State Championship. The Jags just do things differently and most of time it works for them to at a minimum keep them in games when they are out-manned which, at least for me, is fun to watch.

100% agree. Same story with all of the KY schools but I'll give UK a slight pass.

Realizing this game was coming off of a game just the day before with PC this Scott team is impressive. They scrap every night. For Boone I just don't understand how Robbins, Haynes and Rogers are not consistent mid-high double figure guys.

I read this article yesterday and thought is was very good. Offense, which is the staple for most teams, is secondary for Cooper. What many don't understand is that Cooper teams tend not have multiple major scoring threats or bigs so they focus on playing tough hard-nose defense to make up for it. They are more than content to keep games in 60s and below. They just do what works for them.

I agree with your interpretation but many refs do this as a professional courtesy for both teams. I look as this along the lines of refs being professional and not whacking coaches with technical fouls and showing restraint anytime a coach "quote" disrespects or goes overboard on a ref. which happens a lot. Again, the refs put the ball in play so it is what it is and a clear violation by Cooper.

Ultimately it's a error by the team HOWEVER, the difference between average refs and excellent refs is excellent refs do little things like ALWAYS count the number of players on the floor after time outs BEFORE blowing their whistle and putting the ball in play. These are little things that experienced refs learn at referee camp and those are the types of refs that get evaluated and selected to go to ref Sweet 16 and high profile games. This is...

Nobody made an excuse about last night but we will all let you cherish your “we beat Cooper for the second time in 8 tries in a meaningless game trophy”. Keep pounding that chest. No excuses from the Cooper squad as they play with who they have available. SK won, got congratulated for it. Move on as I’m sure Coach Steiner and the team has.

Good win for SK. I think it’s been quite some time since they’ve beaten the Jags. Cooper came up short but strong showing minus AK but it’s on to the next one as this one doesn’t mean much in the big scheme of things. Friday will be another big test with or without AK.

Couldn't agree more. Between these and the Nike regional combines you really can hurt yourself more than help not to mention there is no college coaches permitted at these events in nearly all of the cases. Best advice is to be selective at choosing college camp, train your hardest, and go compete, standout at those camps where you can be seen by college coaches. Prepare for times with a laser! Good, bad or indifferent, SPEED is a big...

Was thinking the exact same thing. Only what I heard and don’t know to be fact but I heard he was passed over twice while he was there. He has a good thing going at Ryle even though many believe they have under achieved I don’t see him walking away from there maybe he’s interested idk.

Those same calls went against Cooper in the entire first half. In that same 3rd qtr you are talking about the refs, Boone extended it's lead to the largest of the game so you can blame the refs if you want to but I would like think Cooper's defensive intensity picked up from a halftime adjustment to make the comeback. The difference is that one team adjusted to the refs and one team (or coach) didn't. Heck, Sully even got a technical for...

Make no mistake this was a battle and Cooper was very fortunate, lucky, or battle tested to get this win. Rogers was absolutely unconscious in the first half scoring 23 in the first two quarters. However, the adjustment was made at halftime and Rogers ends up with....you guessed it, 23. Boone still built a 12 point lead midway through the 3rd qtr. but the Jags relied on it's foundation of defense to get them back in it found a way to win...

No he didn’t and neither did Braydon Runion. The team found a way after being down by 12 in the 3rd. Nice to see the team step up being down 2 starters.

While I know that Sully is the strict disciplinarian I am pretty sure this team is little tired. As Rick Rude put it, this team had two serious tourney's over the holidays so I am sure that had a little to do with it but I also heard that Coach had to reel some players in and give them a reality check on who was "driving the bus". Quite certain that will be fixed immediately by the next game. Glad to see others step up their games and get...

Man people kill me with who played and who didn’t play. Instead of just accepting a win or a loss it’s gotta be some excuse. Cooper’s win over CCH is legit ESPECIALLY when what was posted by so many in the preseason posted the this CCH team was sooooooo deep that it shouldn’t have made one but of difference if AJ played or not (if you ask those who said they were so deep). Cooper was up by as many as 14 and held on, so be it. There was a...

Heard the same that it was pretty intense. Is it true that with the Jags winning this tourney for the 2nd year in a row that this had not been accomplished in nearly 20 years?
