Not sure where you looked up your information but according to KHSAA they gave up 386 points in 15 games which is 25.7pts/game. We simply have a different definition of a good defense. Lafayette had an excellent offense last year that simply outscored nearly everyone which is ok I suppose but at some point you have to stop someone. If their offense will be as potent as last year more power to them. I have no dog in the fight but I don't see...

Just a question, but how is the defense going to be solid after giving up nearly 26 points per game last year? I believe this team relied heavily on it's offense to "outscore" nearly everyone vs. stopping teams. They gave up more points that any 6A team with a winning record in 2016. Not disputing your theory but were they young on defense last year? If they were then that would explain a lot and they should be better this season.

This might be one of the youngest teams (realistically and experience wise) in Cooper's 9 year history other than the schools inaugural year. Not sure how they will be other than they will compete hard but best believe the future after this season will be very very bright because there is some serious young talent in the pipeline. Good luck this season Jags but I can't wait to see this team next season and the year after.

Congrats to AK! I would expect he will receiving some other big offers moving forward. Cooper will be a major contender for the 9th even with losing McNeil and Hendrix, very good nucleus returns. Love when NKY kids "get a shot".

A lot of discussion about one player. I would think the coach would be more important than if one player is staying or going.

Congrats to Adam and I'm just assuming that since he's played in the All-star game that he did not participate in the Transy camp that Cooper went 3-0 in yesterday? Cooper should be in the hunt again this coming season.

Oh so now your referring to "beating" 6A powerhouses? Your original comment stated that "those 4 schools" were 4 scores better than "any" NKY team which, outside of Trinity and Male, I totally disagree with. The comment of 4 scores better you made, again, applies to Trinity and Male which I will give you but I don't see it applying to Lafayette and SC who in my opinion are beatable. They are certainly good teams but their not 4 score...

This change is about 2.5 years overdue IMO. Matta's greatest class was the Thad 5 and frankly he hasn't done much since except for the run he had with Diebler and the subsequent loss to UK in the tourney. Good guy and becoming the all-time wins leader for the Buckeyes is great but there's been nothing done substantial for the last 3+ years. I personally like Billy Donovan who would bring instant credibility back to the program or Greg...

Oh, you must be referring to Trinity and Male as the powerhouses. That domination and broken record you refer to applies to every other 6A school in the State, not just Ryle.

Randy Borchers @ Cooper (10-6) in 5 years of qualifying for the playoffs. 2 Regional titles and 1 State Runner-up.

That's your logic for them being 4 scores better than any team in NKY? Ryle lost to SC by 2 points in a game that could have easily went the other way. SK had a very bad night and lost to Lafayette and yes gave up 60. Lafayette is a very good team but not dominant, especially defensively. They gave up more points than any 6A team with a winning record.

I'll give you Male and T in that assumption but the rest are good but not 4 scores better and frankly could be beaten by a couple NKY schools. Ryle and SK will be formidable opponents to represent NKY in 6A this year. Cooper and Conner were both hit hard by graduation.

Good. Hopefully things will continue considering 1-2 in State players that are definitely worthy.

Congrats to Colin. Frustrating that in order for "99%" of Kentucky players to get a shot at L'ville they have to go in as a walk-on if at all. Petrino has signed 3 players from KY in 3 years since his return (none this year and none in year one). Good luck to Colin!

The Jags will be very young literally and experience wise but they will compete hard. Even though they will have several holes to fill, there is some very solid talent from last year's freshman team and the MS team that went undefeated in their season. One thing for sure there will be no outside pressure and Coach Borchers will get his young troops ready.

Absolutely correct but 2 of the schools are within 20 mins driving distance so he could "technically" treat these as "unofficial/official" visits. I would not be surprised if a couple of other "big" schools come calling before it's all over. Best of luck to CJ and his future is certainly bright wherever he ends up. "IF" this is his list I certainly could see him at X, UM, or Iowa.

I think Cooper has had to have made its way on to this list in the last few years. Probably in the 16 Could not agree more with your comment KOC. What Cooper has done in it's 9 year existence is pretty incredible and the upside is certainly bright. Add to the fact that the housing development continues to grow exponentially in the Cooper district it will only get better. I will certainly not be surprised if Cooper competes for a trip to...
