Not sure why this is even a thread. Cooper is having a bad year after getting hit hard by graduation and there seems to be a rush to hit the panic button. Someone mentioned earlier to play they "young guys"? Take a look, they are playing young guys. Unless they plan to go down to the Freshman and MS level you can't get much younger. Another person mentioned that they beat the halls to get more kids to come out? Cooper's numbers are about the...

Walters - just selected basketball, and I believe baseball, over football but certainly would have been a huge lift to the QB position. Milburn - is now at Ryle McGinnis and his brother both enrolled at CC as freshmen Burch - I believe was injured as a freshman and did not return to the program Schertler - Is now at Dayton Good luck to all the players.

I didn't take offense to your comment and in many cases you are correct. I was just saying that in Cooper's case it has help that the MS players are learning the base systems of the high school program before becoming a freshman. You're correct in that it doesn't help in all cases.

Maybe, maybe not. Cooper's middle school program has certainly proved to be beneficial since it started. Over the last 5 years which has included a significant, and in some year's core, amount of Cooper's MS players has produced a state runner-up title, a state semi-final runner up, 2 regional titles and 3 district titles. I think in this case the process is working out ok.

Exactly!! One down season does not indicate the team in down forever. Cooper has done just fine over the last 5 years so this downturn was obviously coming and youth has caught up with them but this season will be a experience and character builder for what has to be one of the youngest teams in NKY if not the state. There are only 12 seniors I believe on this years team and probably 1/2 of them have not played any significant varsity minutes...

I said after week 1 that this HHS team was "just slightly" better than last year and not to read too much into the win over a young inexperienced Cooper team which they should have dominated from start to finish yet were down until :36 seconds left in the 1st half. Now I'm starting to question my "slightly better" comment in that last year's team may have been better. Either they have some internal issues or just maybe everyone else got...

Congrats. Spent the last part of the AAU summer with KY Select and got some decent exposure. He certainly will have a couple more offers before it's all said and done. Kid is a player who can put it in the basket with the best of them.

Tough spot for their coach. As the saying goes, you never want to be the guy who follows the legend, you want to be the guy who follows the guy who followed the legend". I tried to tell people following the "big" win over Cooper that this team was only somewhat better than last year's team and not to read too much into a win that they should have dominated from start to finish but didn't until the 2nd half. I have no dog in the fight...

No one should be bashing Coach Borchers. Aside from Cooper's first 3 years this is the youngest and most inexperienced team in Cooper's existence. This team has a ton of first year varsity players and only 12 seniors I believe most of which have not played significant varsity minutes. The cycle has hit them and they'll be fine over the next couple of seasons.

Not overly surprised at the result of this game. As others have mentioned from a previous thread, I too told people not to read too much into the win over Cooper. They fought and came back and beat an above avg. CC team in OT and I'll stand by my previous comments, HHS is just slightly better than last year.
