  1. Brett has been contacted by UC, Western KY, Ohio University, Stanford and Lehigh for football and for baseball its been UC, Wright State, Indiana, Ole Miss, Highpoint University, Ohio University, Tennessee Tech and Western KY.
  2. Anyone from BW or Frankfort know if this game will be on the Internet?
  3. The AABC World Series in Texas and the PBR Future Games are going on at the same time this week. Brett is in Texas with the Tomahawks.
  4. The Beechwood Sophomore Gang: Bankemper-getting starts in outfield and quality at bats for varsity. Combs-varsity starter since 9th grade, played for Midland only as an 8th Grader. Fieger-varsity starter, played jv as an 8th grader. Rowe-getting playing time at 1st and 3rd and coming off bench with some clutch pinch hits. Slusher-varsity starter since 9th grade, played in a couple varsity games as a 8th grader. Stringer-varsity starter since 9th grade, played for Midland only as an 8th grader.
  5. Suchanek 3-4 2b 2 rbi Rundle hit a 2 run HR Just to add to the box score.
  6. IMO Jake Schmidt, Beechwood's catcher, will get some D1 looks.
  7. Ohio has the rule where 8th graders are not allowed to play high school baseball. At 14U SWOL will start their season at the same time as the high school programs. So the NKY 8th graders that play for the Ohio teams either skip the frosh games and practice when the schedule conflicts or they just don't play. As an experienced travel baseball coach of 16 plus years, I just didn't start my schedule until after the NKY high season was over. This way the kids got to play high school and have the experience and the school did most of the preseson prep for my summer teams. On the same note the very talented 8th graders stuck with the SWOL Ohio because as a previous poster stated the talent level was better, which I agree.
  8. This could be the line up based on last years games. 1) Stringer CF 2) Suchanek SS 3) Combs 3B 4) Slusher LF 5) Schimdt C 6) Hamilton 1B 7) Booth 2B 8) Fieger RF/P will probably play Cf when Stringer pitches 9) Allen / Rundle / Colosimo will depend on pitching rotation and the spots they need them to fill. Again this is just my guess.
  9. If I'm not mistaken Beechwood has a bench player keep the book and I'm pretty sure they aren't the only high school following this practice.
  10. You forgot Brett Slusher. He hit 4th last year for Beechwood and had a monster summer hitting 2nd for the 18U Colonels.
  11. What position does Cameron Play? I don't remember hearing to much about him.
  12. Slusher 2 run HR in the top of the 1st for BW just made it over the fence and (IMHO) was wind aided, as the CovCath CF came in a couple steps then drifted back and back and back. Hey, Give the kid his just dues. Brett Slusher is a 15 year old freshman going up against the Cov Cath hard throwing senior 17/18 year old ace. Slusher hit a fast ball to dead center field for his first varsity homerun. So if you have to down play his accomplishment to make all your blue colonel buddies feel better, then more power to you. When you start down playing or making excuses to make your guys feat sound better, all it does is bring out your insecurity IMHO. Can you tell me another high school in the state that plays 3 freshman and 2 sophomores, has a record of 27 and 7 and has accomplished what this team has? I don't think so. So when a young player does something worth mentioning congratulate him. Instead of my hit was better than your hit. Again this is IMHO. Go Tigers take state!
  13. If they were playing CCH and he was hitting against CCH's ace, thats the only way Ramey could have hit one out (wind aided). Oh I'm sorry that would be TOG;s IMHO. Great job Todd keep it up.
  14. Ryle is at Beechwood tomorrow@ 5pm.
