  1. RPI works in football because 95-100% of their schedule is played against in state teams. A lot of basketball teams travel out of state. Be it playing quality opponents for Ohio or Indiana. The out of state Christmas tournaments these teams travel to play. When you play an out of state team the RPI calculates it as a team that is .500 playing .500 level competition. So, for example is you played a team from Columbus in a tournament that was 15-1. The RPI calc reads that W or L as a team that was 8-8 with their schedule being against similar. If they go to an RPI strict bracket then you will force coaches to have to make very difficult decisions regarding their schedule. Do you go out of state and play different/better competition to get your team ready but, risk getting a low seed in tournament? Or, do you stay home and play who you can? It's not a perfect system but neither is the NCAA tourney committee when they select 68 teams for a bracket.
  2. I would say there needs to be class on both sides of this situation. I would have probably done the same thing in your situation. HOWEVER, a team that only scored 9 points for an entire game, I highly doubt they have the capacity to press a 7th grade team. I would say the unwritten rule is the winning coach usually waits for opposing coach to pull their starters first. Sucks because it keeps that coach from putting in kids who don't play much or at all. BUT, if a team is getting outscored by that much then pull them. This is ALL based on them playing their starters in the 4th qtr. That could not be true as much as it could be. I don't know their coach personally.
  3. Nobody is wanting to coach these days and its getting worse. We're seeing fewer and fewer long tenured coaches. Nobody wants to deal with delusional parents and/or players. Everybody is quick to criticize but nobody steps up when the job is open.
  4. I wasn't aware this job was open. Does anybody have any details on that?
  5. Suspension?! Sorry, did I miss something in one of the other threads?
  6. Why did he leave Ryle to coach at Boone?
  7. Generally officials wont allow her to have a piercing during the game. I've seen kids multiple times hide a piercing with a flesh colored band aid. Sometimes it works and sometimes they will catch it. That spot might be difficult to cover up and not be noticeable. I wouldn't be surprised if they WONT allow for an exemptions. Hopefully I'm wrong or you can find another way. Hate to see young kids not able to play sports. Best of Luck!
  8. In my honest opinion I think they've been slightly disrespected by the pre season polls. I think they are more of a complete them than anybody this season and should have been #1.
  9. I think its a judgement call on if they issue a tech or a warning. If there was intent to touch the player then yes a tech. That play is designed to make you not think about going out of bounds but guarding the girl so she doesn't get the ball. A 5 second call is ludicrous IMO! Worst case its a stoppage and a warning issued then they try to inbound it again.
  10. I could be wrong but it's like slapping the ball out of the in bounders hand. So I think a warning is issued then if it happens again I think it's a tech. Again, I could be wrong.
  11. I agree! She wasn’t playing at the end of last year so I wasn’t thinking about her.
