Definitely, a great point made! One of the most underrated aspects of Belfry's title run in 3A was a very strong Special Teams game over those seasons. Devin Wellman was an exceptional Punter and Austin Woolum was Mr. Consistency in the kicking game. In KY High School football, the kicking game may very well be a as much as a 10 point swing every game if you can do it well.

The popular Netflix show "13 Reasons Why" covers controversial topics. As we look back at some of the defending 2017 State Champions as they head into a new season, we will give 13 Reasons Why they will either hoist the trophy again, come up short, or just generally be worth following. Boyle County Will Win the 2018 Title Because: Reason #1- Chuck Smith doesn't believe in "one hit wonders". Smith's track record insists that when he...

I can see taking a shot at him for losing to Western Hills last year, but the three years prior his season ended at Belfry. Two of those three years no 3A team in KY was able to play with Belfry on their home field, let alone at Belfry.

He will... in fact I expect Cole and Dotson (UK) both to see key minutes. His younger brother Ben will be a key player for Belfry this year. Ben does not have Cole's size (to say the least) HAHA

Who are some other names out there from smaller schools or less considered programs everyone should take notice of?

Kentucky has a strong crop of talent including guys with major college recruitments and personal trophy cases already filled with awards. You will hear plenty about names from this tier of players in the media and on your favorite college school's subscription websites. This list is not about those guys. It is about the guys who may come from smaller or less thought about programs. For some these may be new names, for others it may be a...

The cross bracketing also got me off on a different tangent I feel like sharing. I am not sure it is the product of the modern age of collegiate recruiting evolving, a product of Belfry playing a significantly hardr schedule, or a combo of both... but this Senior Class of Belfry players has really seen an absurd amount of D-1 players (Specifically All-Americans) and things will only drastically increase this year further. For decades I...

This will be an interesting year for Belfry with big Question Marks. OFFENSE What we know about Belfry is that they are going to have one of the best Offensive Lines in the entire State of Kentucky. The Pirates return every single starting linemen including two or three guys who are already getting Mid-Major and FCS attention. The Pirates have several 2 or 3 year starters back and will be dominant up front after road grading to 4,813 rushing...
