Acceptance speech for that award actually should go something more like: "Noone ever thought I would win this award. Everyone said I wouldn't even be a Finalist and truthfully I am thankful I won this award because it most likely will never happen again. LRCW and Watusi both will easily beat me next year for this award, but I will put my best foot forward"

ATLCat replied to a thread AP Poll in KY Football (High School)
The person who voted Fulton County #1 deserves their vote revoked All they did was look at the KHSAA scoreboard for 1A teams and saw Fulton County at the top of the list and voted for them since they have the most points scored of the undefeated teams. I guarantee Lynn Camp was their 2nd place vote as well. This is someone who is literally mailing it in.

Old school high school highlight video of Harrison Smith for reference: 1:10 shows him high pointing footballs. I dont think Reese is as good in run support as Harrison Smith is right now, but with his natural abilities I could see that phase of his game rapidly improving once he adds weight in a college weight program

He reminds me a lot of former Somerset WR John Cole who went on to play for Vanderbilt when looking at him on the Offensive Side. Solid but not freakish speed or wiggle, but exceptional leaping and ball skills. On the Defensive side of the ball is where Smith really shines to me and where he blows Cole out of the water. I think he is going to be a great Safety at the next level with his ability to react and high point balls. He is the...

The good news for Mayfield is Corbin is not really a home run type of Offense. The bad news is this should be without a doubt the best Defense they have seen all year.

This should be a dandy like the past three years. May be the best team either has fielded in this series. I will say Mayfield 28-26.

The case for moving ahead of St. X could easily be made for sure with X having two losses in State including a common opponent. I would think it would warrant being ahead of Trinity as well.

For whatever reason the Lit Rating Magic Number ALWAYS gives bias towards Paducah Tilghman It's an odd thing i have noticed over the past five or six years. Even when Tilghman is non-competitive it always seems to rate them about 4-5 spots higher than it should.

For a comparable team in Kentucky, I would say Casey County or Bell County (with a different Offensive style).

Might as well start the dialogue here. Point Pleasant (4-0) is the #3 team in WV's Class 2A (they only have three classes). They would be an equivalent of a 3A school in Kentucky. This should be a very good test for Pikeville, especially after a long road trip to a place where Point Pleasant rarely loses at home. Of PP's four wins three have been against lesser competition, but their best win was a 42-35 road win over Mingo Central to...

They wanted a neutral site with nice facilities that at least offered somewhat of a travel reprieve. When Mayfield is the home team, they have played at Austin Peay. When Corbin has been the home team they have played at Lindsey Wilson College. Clarksville is roughly 1.5 hours from Mayfield and 3.75 hours from Corbin Lindsey Wilson (Columbia) is basically the direct reverse. Obviously Union College (Corbin) and Murray State (Mayfield)...

The Defense Never Rests Two Touchdowns per game. Meet any Defensive Coordinator and he will tell you that if you can allow just 14 points per game that his Defense is going to put his Offense in position to win any game and deep playoff success is a strong probability. As the sample size for the season finally starts to grow we can get a good indication of which teams are giving their Offense a chance to win the game by simply seeing what...

    1. Corbin Redhounds (3A, 4-0)- Corbin jumps back into action this week in a big way travelling to Clarksville, TN to take on the powerhouses Mayfield Cardinals. This series has been tremendously competitive and expect that to continue. 2. Johnson Central Golden Eagles (4A, 3-1)- Moore was a quality challenge for Johnson Central, but the boys from Paintsville were too strong. District play starts with an over-matched Boyd County team. 3....

Yes.. I love this Pikeville Offense Don't think they have that "guy" like Pugh, but I think they have more weapons and this OLine is a little better. Connor Roberts is tough as nails and a much better threat in the RPO at QB.
