Also shout out to South green for HORRIBLE jerseys! I was going to do some investigating to see if there was another view you could find from their hudl page but you cant read the jersey numbers to even know who was on the field.

It looks shady in the window we are given, but without seeing the other end of the chains or knowing where the original spot for First Down was it is hard to say what really happens. Maybe there was a kink in the chains he was stretching out or the chains were wrapped around some object or foot?

In this day and time of Hudl I would think there would be a much more clearer picture that can be painted. Namely where the ball was spotted on First Down to start the possession and how the chains were set up accordingly.

The Regional Finals are tough. I have always said I feel like the Semi-Finals should be held on a neutral site. I hate the KHSAA set up and that a 3-seed team can host a Semi-Final over the #1 overall team simply because it is an even or odd year. Regional Finals are a little trickier. I tend to be in the same camp as you. With that said, it could be worse. Down here in Georgia it is not uncommon to see teams have 5.5 hour commutes if not...

Totally not trying to get off subject here but.. As someone who spent their life riding on the Mountain Parkway and has had family members killed on it at night, I would much rather leave work an extra 30 minutes earlier when already leaving work early as opposed to riding on that deathtrap of a highway late at night. There are some stone cold idiots who drive on that road and at night when you mix sleep and possible intoxicants it only...

Eliminate B, a "so-so 1A team" and a Mr. Football candidate should never be synonymous Typically all it takes is one great player to make a 1A team a very good team. I also would be concerned with the bets player on a 1A team being their WR when they are "so so". I would give C a lot more credit if I could actually trust Defensive Statistics. Unfortunately in this state it is far easier to assume the Tackles, Sacks, and TFL's are drastically...

I took some time to watch a couple Boyle games last night a little deeper, here are some of my thoughts: - I really like the Kelly kid up front. He is a hosscat and works hard. I was a HUGE Mitchell Paycheck fan last year. I don't think Kelly is quite to the level of Paycheck's ability to disrupt a game, but it is close. The best matchup of the night will be Belfry's very good Interior Linemen vs. Kelly. - EZ Roller is a player at LB. Very...

Yes sir, first ever! The closest these two ever came to each other previously was Boyle played in the Pike County Bowl the year they won their first Title. They beat Pikeville.

For those Boyle fans coming: - Game time has been moved up to 7:00 to accommodate for the long return trip back a little better. - Belfry sits right along US 119 North. You will take US 23 South until you are on the edge of Pikeville City Limits. You will then turn left at an intersection onto US 119. Once you make the turn you are essentially 30 minutes from Belfry High School when you make this turn. Unlike years past, US 119 is now a...

Bentley's X-Ray came back negative, the question now will be how bad the sprain was and how the swelling and mobility is by Friday. He would be a massive loss for Belfry on each side of the ball. Judging by how he could not put any weight on his leg it certainly does not bode well, but at the same time those Bentley boys are some tough hombres. Historically if they can play through an injury they will. Not sure the status of Mounts, Fields,...

Murray Stuns Owensboro Catholic, Take Aim at Mayfield Trailing 26-0 in the First Half, it appeared as if the heavy underdog Murray Tigers were more likely to have a running clock rather than a potential shocking First-Round win. Murray never faltered in the face of adversity and just executed key drive after key drive, coupled with a Defensive effort that held the high-powered Aces' Offense to only one score as the Tigers rallied to outscore...

Belfry's Offense was plenty good enough to score enough points that they would normally have a puncher's chance of pulling the upset. The Defense, unfortunately, just does not have the talent to give the Offense a chance to win this game in normal circumstances. Belfry was already a very average Defensive unit with known deficiencies on the DLine and experienced cover guys. When you throw in key injuries to the strength of the Defense (the...

Example A of why you schedule up. One team was ready for the level of competition, the other was wide eyed and unaccustomed to the game speed they needed to perform at.

I have loved seeing Russell turn it around this year and really turn into a tough team. The Devils are playing very good Defense and peaking at the right time. Unfortunately, they are not on the level of Central. Central 35-7

You can add that Belfry also had a turnover inside the 10 of LexCath as well (may have been inside the 5 but I think it was around the 6 or 7). Every pivot in this game seemed to be of the greatest possible magnitude.

Not sure about that. Belfry's D-Line was excellent that year and they had playmakers in the secondary. If LexCath had Beau Allen at QB that year they may have sustained more success, but that particular Belfry Defense was just simply light years ahead of this crew that has added significant injuries on top of a pretty flawed unit already.

Also, I have bragged about the Belfry radio crew before but I think many got to experience tonight what kind of great job that Bobby Norman and Coach Steve Mickey do on a weekly basis. Their call was phenomenal tonight and really showed what makes them one of the better crews in the Bluegrass. This was a game where it was both impossible to hide emotion and at the same time a game that deserved to have the emotion conveyed. The guys got...

I dont see Belfry stopping any of Boyle's Offensive possessions. Any chance for a Belfry win would probably require a score like this one tonight. Unfortunately for Belfry, though I think they will move the ball and score points, Boyle's Defense is significantly better than Catholic's and should get some stops or force turnovers.

Great, great effort from LexCath and Beau Allen. I won't say Belfry won this game as much as Lexington Catholic just ran out of time. Someone said this week that something had to give in a game between two teams who never lose a 2nd Round game it seems. Neither team tried to let the sun set on them. Belfry Sophomore Isaac Dixon with one of the biggest individual games in Belfry History. After Belfry broke their serve with a fumble...

Belfry has no Defensive Line presence whatsoever. Isaac Dixon is a special, special Sophomore for Belfry. Close to 300 yards rushing and a 100-yard Pick 6.

IMHO, the start to getting over a disappointing season begins with how the coach manages the future during the season. Getting underclassmen valuable experience and game reps will help ensure improvement and help prevent future discouraging seasons. Nothing instills optimism more than a large number of returning starters the next season.

My thoughts on last night were simple: Duke was simply the more talented, better prepared, and better executing team. I am a big Kentucky fan but have no problem admitting that Duke team looked like a machine! I have been a huge RJ Barrett fan ever since I saw him dominate playing for Team Canada. I knew Zion was a freak of nature, but didn't expect his game to be so complete. Reddish was also superb.
