It is a valid argument But if we are only looking at final score margins you also have to look at their scores against Leslie County, Somerset, and fellow 1A Frankfort. I think 8 is a pretty accurate spot all things considered, but I definitely agree that an argument can certainly be made to be higher! Campbellsville only has one loss, but that Casey County loss has got rid of some it's luster with their performance against Corbin and...

I kind of said it in the final score thread, but it is worth repeating. Most people took away from the Boyle/WH game that Western Hills exposed Boyle and played them tougher than they should. What I took out of it is Western Hills is better than the one man show people think of them as... and more importantly that the real Boyle County team showed up in the 4th Quarter when the game was tight and a couple calls didn't go their way. Instead...

My thoughts based off my criteria and my perception of what typically constitutes the winner of the award 1. Wandale Robinson- He checks every box you want. Big time recruit. Big time stats. He is right in the heart of the media focus. Makes "wow" moments. Steps up against the better competition. 2. Milton Wright- See above and repeat. The only knock on Wright is there are moments he seems to disappear during games. Part of that is...

Belfry's hasn't exactly been a dominant Defense. The Pirate D-line has given up yards on the ground to teams who spread the field and run between tackles (Huntington and Pikeville). The only time Belfry has faced a team who utilizes a true power running game effectively was Cabell Midland, the Pirates held up fairly well and the final score was not quite indicative of the game. Conversely, Johnson Central really hasn't faced a team with a...

This one is kind of a moving target every year depending on the focus the respective coaches put on injuries. It has also been an odd series where the road team has really did a good job of winning in recent years. Johnson Central enters 8-1 with numerous big wins including Moore, Henry Clay, and most recently a dominating win over Ashland. Belfry has some quality wins over Pikeville, Newport Central Catholic, and Cabell Midland... but...

    1. Johnson Central Golden Eagles (4A, 8-1)- The Eagles made a statement by taking rival Ashland to the woodshed and locking up homefield advantage. All that remains now is a battle with Belfry for power running game bragging rights. 2. Corbin Redhounds (3A, 8-1)- Corbin leaned on their Defense for a shutout and stretched their legs late to put away Casey County and lock up a District Title. The Hounds will look for geographical supremacy...

Breaking Down The Top Teams' Title Chances: MAYFIELD Why Mayfield Will Win the Title- The Cardinals check every box you want. They have a balanced and explosive Offense that is equally adept at putting together long scoring drives as well as big play strikes for sudden points. They have an opportunistic Defense capable of making plays in the backfield. Why Mayfield Will Not Win the Title- The Cardinals have to take their show on the road...

I say the chances are very strong you see them in Round 2. Western Hills will be the favorite in their First Round game against Lawrence County.

F-S is playing very good football and after tonight that loss to South Warren doesn’t feel as bad.

    1. Reese Smith is a stud. 2. Wandale Robinson May be the best player in the State. 3. Boyle is better represented by the team we saw once the game was in jeopardy in the 4th rather than the team who struggled to get a atop the first three quarters. 4. With that said, Boyle has a juggernaut of an Offense but this is not necessarily a top shelf Defense.

LOL Pike Central getting credit in the short term, but over the past ten years they have to be one of the biggest violators. They have been in more brawls in the last ten years than any other school I have seen. I know of at least two bench clearing football brawls, one baseball brawl, and if I am not mistaken they also had a nice tussle on the basketball court as well.
