My favorite quote in all of sports is 'That's why they play the games'. On paper, NDA wins this one by 20. Highlands strategy may have been perfectly legal but I'm certain that many of their kids will be thinking about the what ifs for a long time. Upsets happen every day in sports, and by employing a run and hide strategy Highlands players had no chance of winning a game that they would have been proud of for the rest of their lives. The players who worked so hard for so long deserved a chance to run the floor and maybe, just maybe, pull out a legit win. This strategy may have a place in sports, but definitely not at the high school level and certainly not in a tournament game.

I did not intend to single anyone out with this thread. I'm simply curious what the fans think makes a good or not so good pa announcer. I know some announcers can make the experience more enjoyable for everyone involved, but I certainly didn't intend to single anyone out as being a bad announcer. Apologies if I offended anyone.

What schools have the best basketball PA announcers in northern Kentucky?

I was the PA guy for the Dixie girls games this season, and having seen all the teams in the 9th Region Tourney, I think the winner of the Conner/Highlands game will win this thing. Though I'll be pulling for the Lady Colonels to make a run, Conner and Highlands were the two best teams I saw play this year. Whoever takes that game tonight will probably be hoisting the trophy when it's all said and done. On another note, kudos to all the players, coaches, parents and fans who make up the 9th Region. There are lots of classy people out there. Though I did hear an occasional off-sides remark during the season, the vast majority of people are good folks who made this season very enjoyable for me. GO LADY COLONELS!
