It was mentioned in an earlier post, but Woodland beat Campbell 36-6.

I’m completely blanking on the score in the Beechwood game. I just know it wasn’t close.

I get that people have flaws. But in a sport where we already have review in an effort to get the call right, why folks are against getting the ball/strike call right every time, is just baffling to me. Balls and strikes have such a big impact on the game, and we have the ability to get those calls correct, every pitch. Every one complains endlessly about balls and strikes. Let's take that complaint out of the game.

Beechwood beats Walton by a few touchdowns for the Medium School title. Woodland beats Campbell County 36-6 for the large school title. Don’t know who won the small school title.

The biggest question is at what point do both these teams send in the backups?? Both are #1 seeds and hoping for deep playoff runs. This game is meaningless. This is a game that if it had any meaning would have been interesting.

There are lots of different big prize contests. The lower the entry, the harder it is to win. I typically play $5-$25 contests depending on how much I like the slate. For football, I tend to stick to single entry contests. For basketball and hockey I like medium sized slates (6-8games) and less than 3k total entries. I really don’t play the super big prize games anymore unless I win entries from satellite contests.

I usually submit at least a couple lineups in different contests. For that day though, I think I'd probably only do one. I couldn't live with myself if the lineup that I didn't put into the big contest killed it. I'm still kicking myself from the time last year I had almost a perfect lineup and won a contest but didn't play a contest I normally play, which would have won me $50k

I'm not a fan of penalty kicks, mainly because it is so difficult for the goalie. Getting a save pretty much comes down to guessing right. For whatever it's worth though, I can't figure out a better way to decide a winner.

It seems to me that people are most upset about two things. One, there's too many trophies. And two, there's too many bad teams in the playoffs which results in playoff blowouts. It's already been pointed out that more than a few states have way more classes for a lesser or equal population than KY. The world hasn't ended and HS football hasn't been destroyed in those states. As far as too many teams in the playoffs, I can see the point in...

That’s nice. I’ve never won a $444 ticket. Cash lines in those games are usually a little lower, and just cashing is a nice payday.

Calling him trash is being kind. If he had any kind of even average performance most games, I’m 4-2 instead of 1-5.

4 classes doesn’t address any problem bring up aside from the “too many trophies” argument. All it does is widen the gap between the largest and smallest school in each class, take away scheduling flexibility (as districts get larger and there are more mandated games) and thus moves more blowouts into the regular season. And this problem would be magnified in the largest and smallest classes. If you truly want competitive balance and more...

Only two:stop:... I've been playing 30 years (since I was 17) and have never had one. And I spent a good many of those years as a single digit handicap, and I can still roll out of bed a shoot in the low 80's. I'm just of the belief it's never going to happen. I did hole my second shot on a par 5 once. However my first shot went in the water, so it technically was only an Eagle.

Fair enough. I still think for the most part, and especially for bigger schools (and/or the top teams), most of the added district games would likely be bad games. Also, while you'd still have 4 out of district games to "schedule up", losing two weeks, gives you less flexibility, and makes that tougher to do, especially the way the playoff system is set up, and the way the state mandates the scheduling grid.

High tops do give great lateral support and traction. What they don't do is stop motion of the foot and ankle inside the shoe...specifically the lateral roll that causes most ankle injuries. Those rigid, lace-up style braces do help prevent that sort of injury.

The downside is that creates larger districts, and more blowout, bad matchups in district play, and giving teams who wish to schedule tougher out of district games less opportunity and flexibility to do so. And you'll still have playoff and finals blowouts.

I'm not a guy beating the scheduling drum like most. While I do think SK could schedule a little tougher, and would like to see them maybe take on a team from across the river, I'm not as bent out of shape about their schedule as others are. I do think SK is an appealing game for those teams because they would bring a lot of points for a win over them. But to be fair, no NKY team is playing those teams, and aside from Highlands, when they...

Big difference on both ends. Favre was a high 2nd round pick that the Packers traded a number one pick for. Majkowski was a pretty average QB who wasn’t going to be the long term guy in GB anyway. Favre was getting that job at some point in time. Sure we didn’t know that Favre would be as good as he ended up. But he was more of the QB of the future than the guy he replaced. Hundley is a late round draft pick sitting behind one of the...

Good luck getting coaches to participate in the voting. And I don't know that coaches are anymore qualified than any one else to vote. For example, how many coaches in NKY know anything about 3A teams?? Plus, I can guarantee there are enough grudges, feuds, and bias out there that politics would likely play a pretty large role in the voting. I also think the idea of monkeying around with the season in order to accommodate a "All Division...

That happens to me in other sports, especially basketball. I get the lineup set, and forget to check it before it locks, and a guy ends up not playing. I was in a basketball contest last year where I finished top 10 with a guy in the lineup who ended up sitting. That cost me over a grand.

I had a Rodgers/Nelson stack in this contest (as well as a couple others) which obviously didn't work out so hot. I had one other lineups that scored over 145, and another score in the 130's so I came out ahead about $45. Been killing Hockey for the last two weeks, which is crazy, because I've never done well in hockey. I'll probably be scaling back my football play with NBA and Hockey going on now, since football has been a struggle this...

Again, in theory this sounds great. In reality though, I think these games would be disappointing at best. How do you get the coaches and players to even care, since the game means nothing? The game would be anti climatic after the state championship, and I can envision many players deciding against playing, especially those that are committed to play at the next level or that play basketball or wrestle. Plus after already playing 16 games+a...

It might be a neat concept, but what would they be playing for?? Not to mention the season is too long as it is. Adding this game would make a 16 game season for those 6 teams. How do you get fired up to play a game after the state championship for a game that really doesn't mean anything.
