No more than a real quick glance, in which you really won't be able to take anything in. Anything more than a second is going to be possibly dangerous. You can't really put a time as to "how long can I look". You may get away with it, you may not. It's certainly not worth taking a chance.

No. If you want to take a good look at the eclipse, longer than a quick instant (in which case you're still taking a risk, and you want really see any of the cool stuff associated with an eclipse, you'll need the special glasses.

You can look up during the eclipse, as long as you aren't looking directly at the sun. And quite honestly, a quick glimpse probably wouldn't harm you, just like a quick glimpse at the sun not during an eclipse likely won't hurt you. But looking at the sun for any period of time, whether eclipse or not, can do permanent damage to your eyes.

Not to mention, total solar eclipses are very, very rare. There hasn't been a total eclipse viewable from a large part the continental US since 1970. There have been a few annular, but even they have been few and far between. So this truly is close to a once in a lifetime event.

One other thing to consider is theft is often a crime of opportunity. There are simply more older cars, and those older cars usually have less sophisticated anti theft systems, if any at all. If you need a car quick, are you taking the brand new luxury car with tracking devices, immobilizers etc, or an older car with no real protection other than the lock?? With the average age of the car on the road around 11 years, older car are simply...

That's not what I'm saying. Pippen was great. I just don't buy that he's right behind Michael on the greatness scale. Great player? Yes. Top 5 in the decade?? No.

Again, he's extremely popular. He probably has more fans, followers and supporters than any other below average pro QB, and below average single A baseball player. And that group of fans not only ignore his lack of ability but get upset should anyone point it out.

Yep. The two new series I found this year I've like have been Ozark and Billions. My wife and I actually started rewatching Sons of Anarchy a couple weeks ago, and we are about halfway through the series. Didn't realize how much I'd missed or forgotten. And lots of scenes that have bigger impact that didn't mean much at the time, that are pretty big now that I know how everything shakes out at the end. Season Three (the one in Ireland) was...

Big difference between ridicule and saying the guy isn't a great baseball player or QB. It's probably more common to see people professing his greatness that simply doesn't exist.

I haven't heard anyone here say they don't like him. I don't really no anyone that can't stand the guy. He still sells football jerseys and he's been out of the league for 3 years, and fills minor baseball stadiums despite the fact that he's not a great player. He might the most popular, most liked athlete of his generation.

Completely agree. It's a great gig if you can get it. I only point that out to folks who still believe that Tebow keeps getting treated unfairly because of his beliefs.

Doesn't matter who your kicker is. Kickers, like defenses, are completely random in scoring. And the difference between a top kicker and lower ranked kicker over the course of a season isn't very much.

Don't know. Remember too, that Tebow never played ball above High School. Which makes what he's accomplished so far even tougher. Another question to ask, is how many athletes would get the same chance to try that Tebow did?

I hadn't know either until I saw Robert Hazard for the 1st time in the late 80'/early 90's while I was in college. He introduced the song as a "pretty big hit" that they wrote and recorded in 1979. When they started playing "Girls Just Wanna Have fun" my friends and I looked at each in shock.

Anyone aware that Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" wasn't originally written or recorded by her?? The song was originally done by Robert Hazard and the Hero's, who was one of the most popular local Philly bands in the 80's, and had a couple minor hits "Escalator of Life" and "Change Reaction" that got a lot of airplay on MTV.

Missed driving through the Tornado that ripped through Blue Ash by a couple minutes. Got caught in a rip current at Rehoboth Beach when I was 19, spent what seemed like an eternity underwater completely under the control of the ocean, and then just got spit out of it and into calm water. I love the beach but rarely go into the ocean now, and never when it's rough. Once while pitching, had a line drive hit back at me that hit the bill of...

I don't use it much, but recently got a $20 Uber voucher for $10. I used to work in the Daily Deal space, so I'm really familiar with how everything works. When I worked in the space, I bought lots of daily deals, and rarely had problems. And most problems are merchant related.

Yes and no. In a servers case, he/she is almost totally dependent on tips based on interactions with different customers, of different needs, on a minute by minute basis. And servers often get needlessly stiffed for no good reason other than the customer is a jerk or is having a bad day themselves. No one is perfect. I've made mistakes in my job, but I don't get docked pay. You are right in the sense that if I don't perform, there are...
