You don't need to cut classes to keep 1-9 teams home. And while population isn't the ultimate decider, it is certainly one of the biggest, and is arguably the most predictable. Larger districts reduce scheduling flexibility for both the really good and really bad teams. People complain about strength of schedule now...what happens when teams who want to step up and play better teams have less opportunity to do so?? All so a 3-4 seed gets a...

Public/Private isn’t the issue either. There just aren’t enough private football playing schools in the state to justify their own “class”, let alone two classes. The large school private class would basically be Trinity, St X and maybe Cov Cath. Then you’d have a small school class of about 8 teams.

All of these are huge achievements, and a sign of high level success. All require an investment of time and hard work that took place over the course of most of your child’s life, that you likely came to be very involved in. I guess what I’m saying is, it would be impossible for me to say one particular achievement listed would be better or make me more proud. All would make me extremely proud.

Cutting classes will not make things more competitive at the district level. All it does is make the gap bigger between the largest and smallest schools. While you might pick up one more competitive game, you’re just as likely to pick up less competitive games. Classes exist because of disparity in size of schools. Cutting the number of classes doesn’t fix or address that problem.

That's for sure. I'm betting most of the people who are angry about this, haven't picked up a GQ or even thought about picking up GQ magazine in years. Complaining about it is only going to help their sales, and it will have the exact opposite affect that the people who are complaining want. Ignore it and it goes away. Keep complaining, and you'll only help drive sales.

People still read GQ?? Is GQ Man of the Year a prestigious award?? If so, who won it last year and the year before...and don't use Google to look it up.

Great Sunday, and basketball got off to a good start, cashing both my lineups across 6 contests. Up about $300 for the week.

I don’t have a real issue with limiting playoff participants. I’d rather see 3 get in than just two. But I’m not a fan of a “plus 1” game at the end of the year. If you’re going to do that, just keep the system the way it is.

Not to mention the internet. You can now get highlights almost right after they happen. By the time Sports Center comes on, it's already old news. In a nutshell, that's why I no longer watch Sports Center more than a couple times a year.

Finally, after 10 weeks, I had a decent week in football. I cut back on my play and lineups, and only played $48 with 3 different lineups. Two cashed, one of which cashed pretty big, and just missed cashing the 3rd. Finished up a couple hundred $'s, but still down about $100 for the year in football.

Would it?? Taking just the top two would make this past weekends game the first round (except for the few 3 and 4 seeds that got through by beating not so good 1 and two seeds). Only 12 out of 48 games were decided by 16 points (two touchdowns+two point conversions) or less. And there’s going to be a quite a few blowouts this week too. Trying to eliminate blowouts is a problem that can’t be fixed. I’d rather let everyone in, so we give that...

I won't argue against reducing the number of teams that go to the playoffs. I also don't know what the big deal about almost everyone going is either. Nobody is regarding a 0-10 season and a playoff blowout as a great accomplishment or as being a trophy worthy season. Kids and coaches aren't stupid. Again, people don't bat an eye when a bad basketball or baseball team gets to participate in the post season district tourney and get boat raced...

I also wonder why we only care about playoff blowouts in football. Nobody says a word when the 4 seed loses to the 1 seed by 50 in the district basketball tournament. Or when nearly every baseball 4 seed gets run ruled in the district playoffs. Every sport has these blowouts in the first playoff rounds (and yes the district tourney is a playoff), despite the fact that no other sport is classed. These Blowouts and mismatches in the post...

Reducing the number of classes will not fix the situation. It’s not the playoff system that’s broken. The real issue is that quite frankly there are very few really good football teams in the state. The gap between the really good teams and the rest of the state is wide. You see a bunch of teams with decent records getting blown out in the second round, and there will be plenty of blowouts next week as well. This is a reflection in KY...

If Yuengling Light was the choice, I'd take it. I'm not a big fan of any of the standard versions of Budweiser, Miller, Coors, etc. So it's Coors Light for me.

The film doesn't have to be of your most recent game. A lot of times, teams get their opponents film well in advance. And even if it was, if you record with a connected device (like an Ipad), the film can be loaded directly to HUDL.

Couldn't agree more about their website. I used to spend a lot of time on ESPN's website. But the change they made a few years ago, really hampered my enjoyment of the site. It was a definite step back in terms of design and UI. I still visit but now it's every couple days vs every couple hours.

I don’t either. Granted, I don’t watch it anywhere near as much as I used to, but that’s more on me and my changing habits as to how I get my sports news (which is online) rather than anything ESPN has done.

I loved the guy, especially when he pitched for my Phillies. And my first thought was yes, he’s first ballot. He was the best pitcher in baseball for a decade. But ultimately, his other 6 years weren’t great, and I think his win total, only 205, would give voters pause.

I've played the Killer Bees twice, one game is an OT loss for me, and the second one is a one point win. Got lucky because I left Corey Clement and his 24 points on the bench, because I thought Ajayi would get most of his run. At least I'm finally getting some luck and have climbed out of dead last in the whole league with 3 straight wins. This week will be tough again with the byes.

I don't think it's a huge deal. By this point in the season most teams have played at least a couple games on the "other" surface. I suppose it's a little easier to transition to turf from grass, rather than the other way around. But even if grass is in bad condition due to weather, I think it still affects both teams pretty equally. Bad footing is bad footing, and it's not like any team gets a lot of game situation on a wet sloppy field. ...
