For what it's worth, I think almost all the seasons are a couple weeks too long and bleed too far into the next season. Although, that could be addressed by starting each season a little later....August 1st for fall, November 1st for winter, March 1st for spring.

I'm ok with 3 getting in too. I just like the idea of shortening the season a week by eliminating a round more. Going back to 4 classes I think would be a big step backwards, and hurt the sport way more than it would help it.

I read bits and pieces of the article, and soccer was mentioned as another sport that could face this issue as well.

Agreed. 4 classes simply is not enough to provide a reasonable gap from the largest to the smallest teams in each class. The lack of competitive balance as a result, would hurt football in the long run, and possibly lead to smaller teams, who are already struggling with numbers, dropping the sport. I don't have any issue with trying new concepts...sports like everything else should continue to evolve, and tweaks to a system in my eyes,...

We did the same thing when we got our new system installed in 2017. Our maintenance plan is a little more expensive ($200), but I no longer hold my breath and cross my fingers when I turn the heat or air on for the first time each season.

Many public schools have their supplemental salary (and salary schedule in general) schedule publicly available for viewing online. There are more than a few schools state wide with coaches salaries in the and $8k range.

True, but still, if your district is tough, you should get credit for it. And sometimes, even your out of district schedule is dictated by things beyond your control...travel budget/time, having good, local non districts teams to play, etc.

Sounds familiar. Except I play even less, and have gotten even worse. The biggest problem is I still feel like I can hit the shots I used to, and now more often than not, just get myself in lots of trouble. I really need new clubs. My current sticks fit the younger, fitter, better player I used to be, not the rapidly aging, less fit hack that I currently am.

Yep. Was originally taught by my Uncle (who was a scratch golfer and had a couple attempts at senior tour Q school) to play in my early teens, who always reminded me that I could leave the stick in when I was off the green, even on really short putts. I had my first real lessons when I was 19 (in the late 80's). The pro always encouraged me to leave the stick in when I could. Took golf as a gym class in college....got the same advice. Played...

I don’t think there’s any way you can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that leaving the stick in will result in more holed putts. Too many variables to duplicate in a scientific setting. For me, when I was learning the game, it was always beat into my head to leave the flagstick in. Personally, I’m going to be happy to leave the stick in regardless of what the pros do.

I certainly agree that people will generally mimic what they see on tour. My comment about "different planets" wasn't meant to be negative. It was simply meant to highlight how shocked I was at your experience with keeping the flagstick in. I played a ton of golf in my 20's and 30's, and largely my experience has been to keep the stick in whenever you have a chance, and I've never heard anyone bring up any possible negatives. Admittadly, I...

Maybe we just play golf on different planets, or maybe itís a generational thing. But I was always taught to leave the flag in whenever possible. And Dave Pelz still recommends and says after running tests, that when you can, leave the flag in. Dave Pelz: The science proves you should leave the flagstick in when you putt - Golf. While I guess I get the reasons why you say you shouldnít leave it in, to me, most of them sound like...

Maybe. I think most of the guys I play with, though are just fine with leaving it in. Iíve always left it in every chance I get, even short putts off the fringe. So Iím not sure your 95% number is necessarily accurate.

From what I understand, because KY's county clerk handles the licenses, and there are so many counties in the state, it was a huge expense and undertaking to get every county clerks office the necessary equipment to process and be able to handle the new licensing requirements. I think that's why they ultimately went to mailing them, instead of being able to produce them on the spot. It is annoying that the state resisted doing this for long. ...

It matters. All golfers walk right to their balls, lineup the putts and blast away when ready. Considering that on every hole no one has to walk up to, remove/tend the pin, walk back to their ball, then replace the pin, groups may save 15-20 minutes or more a round.

Way too complicated, and I doubt that they'd get anything useful from an interview Mcdaniels did 9 months before the start of the season. At this point, I think Mcdaniels is the next Patriots coach, and that Belichick is walking away sooner than later. Mcadaniels will keep testing the waters in the meantime, but it will take a great offer, from a great organization for him to walk away from the Patriots job that he has in the bag.

I’m not sure tinted plate covers are anything more than window dressing. However, when I lived in Philly, people stealing registration tags was a huge problem. They would simply use tin snips and cut the corner with the sticker off, and then somehow remove it and put it on their tags. Plastic license plate covers at least slowed the tag thieves down and likely choose an easier target.

It took almost 6 months for me to get a bill from Delaware. The toll booth malfunctioned and didn’t register the quarter I threw in. I didn’t have anymore change, and the toll booth was unmanned so I just went through. Got a $25 fine 6 months later. I know I should have fought it, but I had no way of being able to prove what happened and ended up just paying. In reality, I shouldn’t have ignored it, and tried to address it right away, so I...

For sure. That surge pricing happens on busy days at the airport as well. Recently, I got caught in surge pricing back in October. Usually, an Uber trip from the airport to my house is $20-$25 (about a 13-14 mile trip). I checked while we were rolling up to the gate, but didn't book because we had to wait for our gate to clear. By the time I had picked up my bags, the price had surged to well over $50. I ended up waiting a little while,...
