Again, this sort of thing is done in other cities. This stadium could house track, football, lacrosse, field hockey, soccer, etc.

Again, this doesn't have to be a giant stadium. Something that seats in the neighborhood or 3,000 people or so would be plenty.

This wouldn't necessarily need to be a big, giant stadium. Maybe something that seats 3 or 4 thousand. There was a similar stadium in the state I'm from, that was exactly what is mentioned here. Used by 4 or 5 schools for football and other sports (soccer, track, lacrosse). During football season, there would be one game Friday night, and possibly a couple on Saturday. Of course coming up with the location and who would manage and take care...

Had 5 lineups and $75 in play. Won back $50, so I'm just slightly ahead for the year. I'm making solid picks, but can't seem to put together a solid top to bottom lineup. After a really good year last year and through basketball season, I've been treading water in baseball and the beginning of football.

Of course people want to play for a winner. And there absolutely may be a few that make such a move simply because of sports. But the vast majority don't have the means to pay nearly 10k a year to play for a winner. The truth is, the Catholic education is a big draw for many and something that the public schools simply cannot provide. That along with no real boundaries is a big advantage for privates. But the tuition part is a big...

Maybe not "very bad", but certainly not ideal. But it's the sacred cow, and won't be changed, even if it is the right thing to do.

Like I said, I'm in the minority. But I've had the opportunity to see firsthand, how it's done in other states. The quality of play in KY's one champion, one class tourney is no better than what you see in classed state tourneys. If bringing an outside perspective is worthy of expulsion, then so be it. Just calling it the way I see it. And since this is about football, again, one (or 3 or 4 classes) doesn't fix the problem. Less classes...

I'm not sure that those threads always come up or get hotly debated. I think everyone pretty much recognizes the 6a champ as being the best team. Maybe you could have made a case for Bowling Green during their run but for the most part, it's pretty much been Trinity, then everyone else. And I don't mean that as a shot at Trinity, or to say that Trinity is a problem. Almost every state has a team (or several in the case of larger states) that...

Just because basketball (and other sports) only has one class, doesn't mean it's the only or necessarily the right way to do things. I don't agree with basketball (or any other sport) only being one class. I know I'm in the minority, but not being from KY, I'm not swayed by the nostalgia and warm, fuzzy feelings many here have in regards to the Sweet 16 basketball tourney, and the "one true state champ" mantra.

Sorry, this argument starts and ends with the Philly Phanatic. The original Phanatic was Dave Raymond, son of football coaching legend, Tubby Raymond, the guy who developed the "Delaware Wing-T" offense. The Phanatic took my 2 month old daughter out onto the field once when I got to throw out the first pitch at a Phillies game many years ago.

I think KY is too small of a state to do 7 classes.......but I think this solves the competitiveness problem better than cutting to 4 classes. What everyone wants is more competitive games, especially in the playoffs. As long as big disparities exist between school enrollments, the blowouts and lack of competitiveness will continue. Cutting classes only furthers the gap....it doesn't make things better. We already complain about 6a teams...

This is not going to be fixed by reducing classes. There are quite frankly a few really good teams and many, many average teams and worse in the state of Kentucky. Reducing classes won't make the average or bad teams any better. All reducing classes will do is set up more games of those average smaller school teams playing far bigger schools in the playoffs. It may make regional final/state final games a little more competitive, but as whole...

Does it matter who Trinity plays in the first round?? Unless you fast forward to maybe the regional final, none of Trinity's playoff games are going to be close. And how does adding another 15-20 much smaller schools to Trinity's class make their class more competitive?

Just a little hyperbole. Participation trophies have zero to do with the state classification system, and probably aren't in the top 1000 of the worst things ever list.

Who else should Cov Cath play in NKY aside from SK?? The vast majority of schools in NKY are smaller than Cov Cath and really wouldn't provide much of game. They already play Cooper and Ryle. That basically leaves SK, Campbell, Boone and Conner. Cov Cath almost has to look outside of NKY to play.

When I was doing it 18 or 20 years ago, it wasn't as easy to find good craft brews. The market has changed so much. Making your own beer doesn't save you money and is really a lot of work. Washing, sterilizing, filling and capping all those bottles really does suck. And it's not cheap and it doesn't take a big mistake to ruin a whole batch and all that time and effort. I may revisit the hobby again but if I do, I'll be legging my beer...

95% of the schools already know how they measure up against the best. They don't need a running clock beatdown to find that out. Beat downs aren't good for your program or community interest. As you get better, you schedule better. Some years are going to be easier than others as all teams go through cycles.

Is 4 trophies that much better than 6?? Reducing classes isn't going to change the fact that a handful of schools in each class will be head and shoulders above the rest. It won't eliminate playoff blowouts in the early rounds unless you only let district winners in. With all that being true, what problem would going back to 4 classes solve except to make the "there's too many trophy" folks happy?

I've said it many times about scheduling. It's a two way street. How many NKY teams will Cov Cath want to play?? They don't have many now and it seems like they've always played teams from out of area outside of a few here and there like Beechwood and Ryle. Cov Cath has to want to play teams from NKY before those teams can say no to them.

I've never seen anyone priced even close to that high in 4 years of playing. Kerwyn Williams is $11k. Wacky.

I got into Homebrewing pretty heavy in my late 20's early 30's. Started with a Mr Beer kit, which turned out horrible. I then tried full store kits with complete recipes and quickly moved to creating my own recipes. I made porters, stouts, wheat bears, and even a couple belgians. They all turned out pretty well. But it was the one hobby I've had that my wife absolutely hated (she couldn't stand the smell of wort cooking) and I absolutely...

It would be really easy to put Dixie ahead of Conner except for the fact that Scott beat Dixie pretty easily but lost to Conner. After seeing all three teams I'm of the opinion that Scott might be the best of those three teams.

I'm not saying they are doing anything wrong, or that youth/middle school programs aren't important. They obviously are, and it's very hard if not impossible, for high school teams to be successful without a youth/middle school program. Just making the comment that success at the youth level doesn't always translate to the high school level. And lack of success at the youth/middle school level doesn't doom you for failure.

That was one of my biggest fears when I first started working from home. I've found it's completely possible to do that while working from home. While me and my team don't get face time, we communicate and collaborate daily via phone, text, and video conferencing. You don't need an office to be able to work as a team. Granted it takes a little more effort and work... but it's definitely possible. Still though, we do get together at least once...
