The kid can't change addresses and move every year on his own. Ultimately this is a case of a kid getting punished for his parent's decisions.

I'm normally pretty open to change, but I wouldn't be a fan of this. I hate to see each team not get a chance to run offense. I'd rather see a tie than have a game decided using this method.

They aren't dead until someone beats them come playoff time. They may be down this year, but if I had to guess, they will still be a factor once the playoffs start.

Newport has had some very good middle school teams over the few years, and if those kids continue to develop, Newport will be very tough for the next few years.

Agree. This is Bell's one big contract for his career. He's gotta do what he needs to do to make sure he maxes on this deal. and staying healthy this year is a big part of it.

Gurley is also a few years younger. I get where both sides are coming from. The Steelers have most of the leverage in this spot though, as Bell is losing money AND time. Bell is at that point where the decline could start to happen anytime, and giving up a year when you've only got so many left is risky (although playing for less than value is too). If Conner keeps playing well, the Steelers end up with even more leverage. Let's not get...

I get the frustration with the hits in the QB. Defenders are going to have to learn new habits and adjust to the rule. But they’ll adjust and this likely won’t be talked about as much as time moves on. It’s too soon for me to say how I feel about the new catch rule, but it’s got to better than the old one. Your other complaints though, about fumbles and TD’s don’t bother me at all. Those rules are pretty clear, and Especially concerning...

I think it’s gotta mean more than just a cameo. Doesn’t mean we’ll see her again, but I think the Sons do somehow fit into the backstory, and we’ll see occasional snippets of the Sons and the Mayans crossing paths.

I can't figure out why AJ gets so much love. A few average performances in a handful of starts in the NFL, and spent his college career as a game manager at a school that hasn't turned out a good NFL QB since the 1960's. I wouldn't be surprised if he's out of the league next year.

Collins getting benched hurt me in one of my other leagues too. That combined with Duane Henry's long TD getting called back was a one-two double whammy.

Looks like Rogers is going to give it a go here in the second half. The way the Bears D is playing, I think he's crazy for trying to play.

I tried like heck to trade Rogers, and when there were no takers, I even strongly considered just dropping him. Didn't have the guts to pull the trigger though. As of now, in week 1, I don't know when either of my keepers will play. At least James Conner took the sting out of not having Bell.

He'll get paid. He might not get as much as he wants, but he'll still get paid. Ironically, his biggest complaint was about his workload. His holdout gave Conner a chance to show that he deserves more touches, which will cut into Bell's workload and hurt his numbers, and may cost him money.

My point in regards to volume, is that while you get a few good games every week, most arenít, and many Of those are absolutely terrible and unwatchable. You donít see NFL teams hanging 60 points on opponents. That happens 10 times every weekend in college. Outside of a couple marquis college games every week most are meaningless, and have zero impact on who wins the title. And there are some weeks that have no meaningful games. In the NFL,...

Couldnít have argued if they had thrown a flag on the play. Lifting someone up and driving them into the turf is a safety issue. Someone mentioned wrestling earlier, and for what itís worth, thatís an illegal slam.

I get what you are saying, but those reasons don’t make it a better “product”. And to your point about losses, in years past what you said might be true, but it’s not necessarily true anymore. Early losses, even if they are bad ones, don’t always hurt you. Look at how many one loss champs we’ve had recently. Also, I’d agree that you can always find a good game. But that’s because there are close to 100 games every weekend. For every good...

There’s no denying that college players love the game, especially those that know they won’t play as pros. But to say pros don’t love the games, is simply wrong. Football at the NFL is a year round grind to keep your body and mind prepared for the grind of a long, stressful season. Playing any pro sport is not something you can do (at least well or for very long) if you don’t love it. There are probably thousands of college players who love...

So is college, except the players don’t see any of the money. Even at lower levels in college, money is what matters. Why else do you think D3 teams bring in 100 freshman every year? Quick hint....it’s not for depth.

I guess you haven’t watched a game so far this week. The closest score has been a 3 TD win for Miss St over K-state. Or maybe last week where over half the winning teams put up over 40 points and almost 2/3 of the games were won by at least 3 TD’s. Only 5 of the games involving top 25 teams last week could have been considered “decent”. Yes there are good college football games every week, but there are a TON of bad ones. I’ll sit through a...

NFL all day every day. Every week there are multiple big blowouts and many games where there is no doubt about who will win and are completely non competitive. The only advantage college has over the NFL is quantity of games.

Opening Thursday night has declined each of the last 5 years. I’m sure the 45 minute delay didn’t help. I’m also guessing it was still the most watched program last night. One other thing that might affect ratings, is I don’t think any of the streaming options to watch the game are counted in ratings. Those outlets are rapidly growing.

Tough crowd here. I loved the game last night. And yes it was sloppy, especially in the first half. But the second half had everything you want in a football game. Maybe it's just because I'm an Eagles fan, but I think would have stayed up and watched that game regardless of who was playing.
