I think Grant got mentioned more because they happen to be playing Conner (who is in NKY).

While in theory, multiple teams would seem to make sense, in practice, it’s just not practical. You’ve already got a 1/2 dozen grade level teams between boys and girls. Unless you’ve got multiple gyms, it’s going to be nearly impossible to have enough gym time for practice and games if you add additional teams. Not to mention finding enough quality coaches.

Not sure how many of the games scheduled for today will actually be played. The heavy rain the past several weeks I’m sure has a lot of fields in rough shape.

Yep. I haven’t run the clock for basketball, but I have for football. It’s not hard to get caught up into the game and miss things. I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to try to work the game and shot clock at the same time.

I think it would have the opposite effect. With an extra foul, I think you'd see guys playing tighter defense, and taking more chances, resulting in less scoring, and ultimately more fouls. That would interrupt the flow of the game, and there's nothing enjoyable about watching a free throw contest. It makes sense that the NBA allows more fouls. Their games are 50% longer than high school games. An extra foul makes sense.

You’re making it harder than it needs to be. Different sport, but I’ve seeded wrestling tournaments with 300+ wrestlers from 3 or 4 states, many of which I’ve never seen or even heard of. I could seed the state basketball tourney in less than an hour, and I don’t follow HS basketball that closely. I’m guessing the experts could do it in 10 or 15 minutes. The “it’s too hard” crowd is simply making excuses because they don’t want the tourney...

Yes. I’ve seen seeding work literally hundreds of times. As long as there is set criteria, and it’s followed, you may not like all the results, but there isn’t any bias. Yes there may be a few debates and arguments over some spots. And it’s not always perfect. But it’s better than a random draw. Now if, the criteria gets changed, or isn’t set prior to seeding, then everything I said goes out the window.

If you seed purely on opinion, this is true. If you seed based on predetermined, set criteria, objective criteria, is really hard for someone to manipulate seeding.

Hes 26 and still in his prime with probably 4-6 elite years left. He still had over 1000 yards in limited action last year, playing with one of the worst QBs in the league (yes I said it...Eli Manning is garbage at this point in his career). You may not like him as a person, but OBJ is still an elite receiver, one of the top 3 or 4 in the league.

How is this a great move for the Giants? They've said all along it would take two 1st round picks to get OBJ, and now they only get the 17th and 95th picks? The chances of replacing their best player (who is in his prime) with one of those picks is remote. Not to mention, they signed him to an extension a year ago, and now have $16 million in dead money stuck to their salary cap, futher limiting the moves they can make. If this was all you...

Last year, Tampa did start a guy two consecutive games. I'm not sure how the league can regulate this so teams "can set their lineup". As it stands, even if a starter scratches, teams have to announce a starter as soon as possible. Unless you force a team to announce their first two pitchers (which would be silly), there's not a lot that can be done.

95% of kids aren't even going to play at the next level. Changing the game for 5 out of every 100 kids who will play in collge, is putting the cart before the horse. The talent level overall at the high school level is not high enough to implement a shot clock. A shot clock will only put the less skilled teams further behind, and create even uglier basketball. Stall ball isn't fun to watch, but neither is watching poor shooting teams shoot...

Like baseball games where despite being 35+ players on both teams, maybe 50 people show up to watch. Or tennis matches where there aren't enough spectators to have a 3 on 3 pickup basketball game. Outside of football and basketball, most high school sports have pretty poor attendance.

It’s still going to be a good sized school...facilities, support, etc won’t change any because of the new school. Maybe just a few less players to choose from.

I've often wondered that as well, as it's brought up all the time when talking about attendance. I'm guessing it's because a Sunday final requires an extra nights stay, and eating out for another whole day, adding a couple hundred $'s to the total bill. But playing the semi's and finals the same day, at least in my opinion, is silly and doesn't lend itself to great basketball. And really, if you're already spending close to a grand for...

They had some success with this system. They even started the same guy two games in a row once. The big advantage is it allows you to play the matchup game early against what are usually a teams best hitters at the top of the order. You then bring a starter type guy in the second inning and he's only matching up twice against those best hitters (at the top of the lineup), and three times against the weaker hitters (the bottom of the order). ...

Except Indiana still sells out the arena for the largest classes, and it's tournament I believe is still the highest attended HS tourney in the nation. People say classing "didn't work" in Indiana and won't work in KY, more based on nostalgia than real numbers. The fact is, KY's Sweet 16 keeps declining, even as they address the "excuses', like competing with the SEC tourney. The problem is the format doesn't work anymore. Not all the best...

Participation is up in sports as a whole. It’s just that there are more sports and activities to play. Plus, it’s not like basketball teams are only showing up with 8 guys, or struggling to find guys to play. The benches are full of players. That’s not true of all sports, but basketball for certain isn’t hurting for players.

Quincy Perrin, Scott. 4 year starter, returning 1st team NKFCA honoree. He’s already had two big years, should be in line for a big Senior year.

That's a completely different business, in a crowded, super competitive space. I'm not sure that what they've done over the years in the grocery business would set them up to be successful running restaurants.

Forgot about their fried chicken, which I would say is the best out of all the grocery stores in the area. That isn't enough to keep them in business though.

Biggs was almost certainly a mistake. But for me, even though I live near two Remke’s (one of which is now closed), it has never been my first choice for shopping. They don’t check any of the boxes for me except convenience—-they’re not the cheapest, they don’t have the best selection or the best service, or have the nicest stores. There’s nothing that makes me go there, and I’ll drive by Remke’s 9 times out 10 to go somewhere else to get...

I don’t think anyone believes they won’t be upside down at some point in this contract. Like I said, if they get 4 or 5 great years and a few solid years and get a World Series out of him, folks won’t be too bent out of shape. 13 years is a long time, but it insures they have Harper his entire prime, and guarantees them flexibility throughout the life of the deal. There’s a very good chance he’s not even the highest paid player most of these...
