Toughness is overrated. I’d say resilience, intelligence and resolve are more important than being tough. It’s obvious that life on a whole has gotten easier over the years. People generally don’t have to work as hard, and living and working conditions have improved dramatically. Being able to cope when things go wrong is a totally different skill. And it’s been proven that bottling those emotions up do more harm than good. There’s nothing...

My parents said the exact same thing. Each generation seems to believe that the next is softer, not as smart as or not as good as they were. And yet every day new things are created or discovered that solve problems, make things safer or make life better/easier.

You're labeling a whole generation on a few knuckleheads. The .01% of the population eating Tide Pods and snorting condoms isn't representative of the entire group. Just like previous generations who gave each other eraser burns, swallowed live gold fish, snorted pixie sticks or wrapped rubber bands around their fingers until they turned purple, there are always a few kids who do stupid things. And guess what.....there are more than a few...

Looking at the pictures, and reading other articles, this looks like more of a tongue in cheek, fine arts project rather than a real “solution” for stressed out students. And even if it was, I’m not sure why this would be so upsetting to some. It’s better than doing shots until you puke. Is it really horrible to let out a scream or two to blow off some stress? And providing a private place to do it is controversial? Tough crowd.

Soft taco. Otherwise you may as well just eat nachos. And you can’t eat hard tacos while driving unless you don’t care about wearing your food. For what it’s worth, the original taco was soft. Hard tacos are an American invention. At least according to Ortega. The History of the Taco | Ortega

Maybe casinos brought an unsavory element to an area back n the says when the mob was running them. But if you take a stroll through any casino (or at least the couple dozen Iíve been in all over the country), while you might see a few characters, I doubt youíll see many people Iíd out and out describe as ďunsavoryĒ.

I canít imagine how long this game took to play. Blowouts suck for both teams. If Iím up, I empty the bench, donít take extra bases on passes balls, put kids on the mound that havenít pitched much, mix up positions, etc. I do not tell my team to look at pitches, strike out on purpose, walk off the base etc. I call off the dogs, but keep playing the game. If Iím on the losing team, Iím pushing my kids to keep playing hard, but at some...

I will agree the best NAIA schools can compete with and perhaps are even better than the top D2 schools. However, I don't think NAIA as a whole is as deep as D2 from top to bottom. NAIA does have some recruiting advantages though, and can pull some kids that won't be able to play right away in an NCAA program. But there are very few NAIA or D2 guys playing in the NBA...by large, if you're not playing D1, the NBA is a pipe dream, and I don't...

Looks like Fulcher quit yesterday due to "differences that couldn't be resolved". I know they were winless in their first two seasons. Wonder what exactly led him to quitting. David Fulcher out as head football coach at CCU - Cincinnati News, Weather, Sports from FOX19 NOW-WXIX

Hitting over .400 in the 5 games he's played in. Already equaled last years RBI total in 114 less plate appearances. It's good to see him having success at that plate.

It to mention it would seem like it would be way to difficult for another person to somehow get him into the van, get in the van with him and then somehow both of them get into a position in order to make this happen. Foul play makes an already crazy story, even crazier.

I assume it could be any Catholic school in Campbell County. Public school kids (which the only one is Campbell County Middle School), would not be able to play for either NCC or Brossart. I believe that's how it was set up when NCC was in the league previously with Brossart.

New Cath will be playing in the NKMSAA and should be drawing kids from any parish school that feeds to NCC. Brossart does have a team in the NKMSAA.

Finally made it to Knockback Nat's last night, as the wife was in the mood for wings. The place was packed, but we got the food quickly. Nice, smokey, meaty wings. Reminded me I need to replace my smoker so I can get back to smoking stuff, especially wings.

Again, chatter is fine. Cheering is fine. Stuff done strictly to distract, annoy, or bother the other team, is the problem. And for what it's worth, I hate that stuff in basketball games as well. Rowdy cheering is fine. The other junk is tasteless.

I’m not a big fan of intentionally obnoxious chatter as is being described by the original poster. Especially if it is completely unrelated to the game, or if it becomes personal. That being said, doing your job...throwing strikes, making the plays on defense, hitting the baseball etc., tends to shut that stuff down pretty quickly.

I watched it, and loved it. I was a big WWF fan in the 80’s, and Andre was always a mythical figure. The few times you’d see him on TV, it was a big deal. And his feud with Hulk was completely believable, and a great storyline. It was neat seeing the old stuff from his younger days. And I had no idea he had a daughter. I can’t imagine living a life where you simply cannot get away from being noticed.

The public schools would take them. They'd have to. There are many areas, especially in rural locations, where private school simply isn't an option, and all kids are in public schools.

Yep. And there is no right way. I personally wouldn't trade my kids experience (or mine for that matter) at a public school for the chance for them to attend any private school in the world. There are issues and problems regardless of whether you choose public or private. And it's great that people do have choices. Not everybody has the choice though. I'll continue to stand up for the teachers, out of respect for the ones that helped shape...

Let's also not downplay teachers, and the important role they play in everyone's life. And that's what seems to be the common theme....the belief that teachers are easily replaceable, or are already overpaid for what they do, and should just drop their protest and get back to work.

People don’t chose teaching for the money. And I’d say that’s true for many professions, especially those on the social services side. People will work in areas and fields that they enjoy and are satisfying to them. But people aren’t going to do it for free either.

Iím well aware of the difference in pay and retirement for private school teachers. My wife taught in a private school for a half decade, and continued to sub for the Diocese of Covington for almost 10 more years. And my daughter will be entering the teaching profession after her graduation in May. I can assure you, itís not about the money for most. As far as your contribution, thanks. As they say, it takes a village. Regardless of...
