  1. I'm very sorry about the mistake. I looked at the lineup wrong. It should be Chris Norman. I would also like to throw a name that I didn't mention because Chris Norman beat him by having less erras. Chas Newkirk batted over 450 and is going to be a star along with the other two MCHS players. I really think he is suited more for second base. Capital when we get our Website up you think we can get an interview with your son. That's very impressive! Have a great Summer and see you guys next season.
  2. Unfortunately we don't have a website right now. Myself along with three other gentleman are just starting KBS which stands for Kentucky baseball Source. We will hopefully have our own website by November and it will be free to the public. I have covered mostly the 40th District this year but next year I hope to cover everyone in the 10th Region. My partners covered the other teams in the 10th region. Thanks for asking! Are you a Capital City Baseball player? Where is that at? I'm not familiar with that School. Have a great Holiday weekend friend!
  3. Here is KBS All District team for 2011 in the 40th District. 1B- T.K Korb- played a solid first base and hit well this year 2B- Blake Thomas- batted over 400 and on base% was very high for. Great Glove. Top Freshman in Region. SS- Chris Howard- had a pretty good year with several HR's. Batting average over 400 for year. Good Fielder. 3B- Logan Mcqueery- Batted over 400 for the year . Good hitter and descent fielder. Needs to play SS. OF- Sam Lee - batted most of the year over 500. Great fielder had several HR's. Solid Athlete OF- Tyler Cain- Tyler has had a very good year at the plate and has a high Average. Played a Solid CF. Pokey Harris- Speedy Outfielder that was a SS. I think Pokey is a better OF than SS. Coach Allison made a good decision to move Pokey to the OF. C- Robert Hatler- Robert played solid as a catcher this year. He playes as a leader and guided the pitching Staff to many victories. P- Chase Mullins- Chase is hands down the best pitcher in the District. P- Anthony Withrow- Withrow has a solid year and led the veteran Cardinals to the Region again. P- Spencer Tabert- Tabert did a great job this year for the young Montgomery County team. He held GRC to three runs in the first round of the District. Tabert is a Freshman and his best years are ahead of him. Player of the year- Sam Lee-MCHS Freshman of the year- Blake Thomas-MCHS
  4. I happened to be at that game and Pendleton County played MC for three innings. They knocked the pitcher out of the game. From what I have seen in the 10th Region this year MC is playing nothing but Freshman and Sophmores. They are very talented 1-6 and in my opinion probably has more talent than most 10th region teams. They are young and lost a nail biter to Clark County in first round of District. Clark will give Bourbon County all they want. If Chase Mullins is on then it won't be a game. I was impressed with Brent Stoneking and the way he came in in relief and shut down the Indians to hold on to the victory. It was a gutsy move by Coach Allison but the right move. If they has left Withrow in MC would be in the Championship game tonight. Everyone says the 10th Region is down this year! I disagree!!
  5. I think you misunderstood what I'm saying. Hobie Hall is a very good pitcher and I loved the way he slapped Thomas's glove after he had two runners on base and pitched himself out of a jam. I think everyone is noticing how Hobie Hall is growing up and becoming a leader on that team. I was at the Clark County game when Hall gave up 1 bad pitch to TK Korb for a 2 run HR. I think the best of Hobie Hall is yet to come. Wait until Thomas,Newkirk,Lee and Nester start hitting like they can and get him some runs. It will be a Team that will be hard to beat. I think Hall will play at the next level. Sir don't think I was putting Hall down because that is not what I was doing. When HAll is on he is one tough cookie!
  6. I have been to the last two games and last night game against Mason County was an easy victory for the Indians. Hobie Hall pitched a good game and has turned out to be a pretty descent pitcher. I think the final score was 10-0. The star of the game was 1B Tanner Combs who hit 2 HR's. MC top four hitters they could beat anyone if the pitching can keep the opposing team in check. MC best pitcher this season has been Spencer Tabor who is 4-0 and had to come and clean up Halls mess at Bourbon County. I've seen every team in the region play but Cambell County and Monthomery County is probably in the top four in the Region. If they can make it out of the District I feel they could make some noise and knock off some teams. Hall would need to pitch food against some better teams because Tabor is the only pitcher that has showed he can beat top teams. MC has three players who are in the top ten in the Region Lee, Thomas and Newkirk. I rank Lee and Thomas in the top three . Jordan Nester is moving up the polls fast and could be a top ten player in the near future. I still say MC can't beat Chase Mullins and when they played at Bourbon County Thomas and Nester had the only two hits off of him. If Lee can get his bat going and Thomas keep getting on base the sky is the limit for this tea .
  7. Does anyone know who won that game yesterday? I haven't been updated on that game yet.
  8. Montgomery County has a very young team. Thomas and Tabor are Freshman and Lee is a Sophomore but what impresses me with these youngsters is they play like SR's. I think in two years they will be the team to beat in the 10th Region if their pitching holdouts. Their infield is 3 Sophomores and a Freshman. They can play some ball too!
  9. In a 3 1/2 hr game tonight at Whitaker Field in Montgomery County The Indians defeated Clark County 18-12. Clark County's lead off hitter Pokey Harris led the game off with HR to left Field as the wind blew it out to put Clark ahead 1-0. Tyler Cain followed with a Single which set the stage up for Logan McQuerry who was robbed of a hit by MC 2nd baseman Blake Thomas for the force out at second. The Cards ended up scoring 3 more runs that inning when the Clark County number five hitter hit his first of 3 Hr's for the night. MC Indians lead off hitter Blake Thomas led off with a single followed by a walk to Chaz Newkirk. Indians most feared power hitter Sam Lee went deep with with a little help from the wind for his third Hr of the Season. The Indians ended up scoring 6 runs in the inning. Spencer Taber came in to pitch after the Cardinals scored 4 runs in the first and pitched a solid game but even through he gave up 5 runs and he was pulled in the top of the 7th Inning. Some Individual performances that deserves to be mention is Clark County's Tyler Cain and T.K Korb had 2 his a piece along with Logan McQuerry had 2 hits including a solo Hr in the 5th Inning. McQuerry made two erra's at third base that cost Clark County. Montgomery County who is playing all Sophomores with 1 junior and 1 Freshman was lead at the plate by Thomas who was 4-6 with 1 RBI and 4 runs scored. Sam Lee had 3 hits with 5 RBI'S including a HR. Jordan Nester played a solid 3rd Base had 3 hit's and 3 RBI'S and made 1 erra in the field. The Indians who are a very young team will go as far as Lee and Thomas will take them along with Hoby Hall's pitching. Thomas showed tonight why most coaches in the 10th region has him picked as the top Freshman. Sam Lee who I think is the best hitter in the Region is on a tear and I was told he is hitting over 600 for the year. I predict that next year that Sam Lee will be voted the best player in the Region with McQuerry second followed by Thomas. Clark County is in for some rough times after loosing Withrow and Korb after this season. McQuerry is a very good hitter will be back and the best pitcher on the team will be Brent Stoneking who is a Freshman this year. MC can beat anyone on any giving night but they will have to score a lot of runs and the pitching will have to keep teams with 10 runs or less. Tyler Cain is a player that can be very tough next year and will play at the next level. If MC had a Anthony Withrow on the mound they could do some damage in the 10th Region. These two teams will meet again in the District Tournament and Clark will probably beat them because they have much better pitching.
  10. I think the Indians are the real deal and could be a contender for the State Crown this year. I have watched their catcher Jimmy Wright a few games and he is going to be a Division 1 caliber player by the time he gets to his SR yr. I will be watching the Indians vs Lexington Catholic tonight in Madison County and we will see how MC responds tonight to another top team in the state.
  11. Bourbon County may have lost Ace Chase Mullins to a Strained ACL. This will no doubt hurt Bourbon Counties chance at winning the 10Th Region. He could be out for a while, but if he does come back he will need to watch every stop, turn or slide he makes or he could easily tear it. I am being told that Montgomery County Indians ace Hobie Hall has a very high ankle sprain and could be out for weeks. This will hurt the already thin pitching staff of the Indians. Hall has had a great Season so far and held Clark County to three runs earlier in the year. Mullins has given a verbal commitment to the University of Kentucky and Hall is being watched by schools such as Cumberland,Pikeville,Berea and Middle Tennessee.
  12. Jeff McEldowney is Head Coach now. Coach Murphy passed away unexpectedly. I's there a reason you ask? I was called and told that Montgomery County was beat by Bath County tonight. Can you update us on that game? If true that's an upset!
  13. Game was 3-2 going into the last inning. Montgomery County brought Sam Lee in who was a little wild but also threw some strikes that were called balls. GRC was led by T.K Korb and Anthony Withrow who pitched a solid game. Hobie Hall pitched a great game and had most of the GRC batters confused because he was hitting the corners inside and out. Hall gave up one bad pitch to T.K Korb who hit a two run shot to left Center field. Blake Thomas led Montgomery County with three hits and played a solid second Base. Hobie Hall had two hit's to add to Montgomery County's offense. Sam Lee made an outstanding play in Center. Montgomery County has 2 Sr's on the bench and Sophomores AND Juniors playing except for Thomas who is a Freshman. I look for big things offensively from Korb and Mcqueary this year but over all Clark County is down from last year.
  14. Have they ever played? I'm not sure they have. You do know Chase has verbally committed to the University of Kentucky to play baseball in the SEC. I have watched him pitch several times and he was consistently throwing 87-88 mph. He has a wicked pick curve ball and a pick off move to first that is unreal. Chase Mullins is the real deal. This might be the year the Breds get to face him. What a match up that will be!
  15. I am going to watch them next week in Gulf Breeze,FL so I will see first hand how good they are. I will keep everyone updated.
