  1. How many penalty yards does Highlands have this game? Unbelievable.
  2. I understand the HHS Broadcasting team is not going as no room in AC press box. Anyone know if AC has at least a radio feed? Thanks!
  3. The chant didn’t start until the 7th as the SO fans were trying to get in Rom’s head. Birds fans simply responded with “MLB”. IMHO (and many in the stands as well), umps’s zone got a little tight there on the last few batters. However, he gets to make the calls. Rom simply gave the glove wave to the dugout to say “I got this” and finished it out. Maturity and senior leadership right there to shake it off and finish the game. Rom had 10Ks, 21 1st pitch strikes against the 29 batters he faced, and retired 15 in a row at one point. I believe he only gave up 1 hit after the 1st inning. Went the distance to allow Coach B. to have the rest of his staff available for tomorrow’s 6pm game. Clearly #notoverrated Clutch RBI hits from Kavanagh and Hennigan. A couple of strong defensive plays from both Kavanagh and Bridewell.
  4. Great quote from Luke Hennigan in today's Enquirer: "It means everything to us. Three of us started that regional final (in 2012) our freshman year, and this will be our third. We're definitely hungry for our first championship. We've seen (Highlands baseball) go from 6-30 to 30-6, so we're just ready to bring it home." What a change in HHS baseball from 2012! Good luck to Jeremy and the boys! Go Birds!
  5. Congrats to #44 ! Well deserved! Now bring home that title tonight! Go Birds!
  6. Pop fly in no mans land. Drops. Dixie scores 2 and wins 2-1
  7. 2 outs. 8 and 9 batter on 1st and 2nd. Top of order for Dixie.
  8. Bottom of 7. Last chance for Dixie.
  9. Boone up 1-0 in the 7th. Ganns still on the mound.
  10. I operate the iScorecast for the Birds. Once the game is over, I remove the game from online access. You will have to catch one in action live sometime. For our fans that can't make it out to the game, it is a cool way to watch the game play out pitch by pitch. Works great for dads or moms that are traveling out of town for work to keep up with the action. That Customer ID works for all of our games.
  11. Kevin Nieporte is the BEST! 8th Grade Science teacher who is a long time dedicated HHS fan and does an amazing job on the mic! Look forward to his announcing every spring!
  12. Birds come from behind scoring 4 in the 5th. Strong starts from Jones and Dunn. According to PBRKentucky, Dunn throwing 86-89 FB, and Jones around 82-83. Both go 4 innings. Dunn with 8 Ks. Vermeil comes in for Birds to get the W. Wise takes the L for the Jags. Ramey with a clutch bases loaded 2 RBI double during the Birds 5th. Birds start the season 2-0.
  13. Nice win to start the season for the Birds at Boone. Starting pitcher, Lou Bunning, pitches 3.67 innings for the win. Joseph Martin comes in to hold for 2.33 innings. Joey Cochran comes in the 7th to close out the game with the save.
  14. The people picking them in a landslide are not the players and coaches, who as 75center said, are probably addressing that focus right now. I agree that with the WC and LC games, the coaches and players got a little too comfortable with their lead; however, I think it is a bit of a stretch to say this team loses focus when you look overall at a 13-1 season, including 2 games over CovCath, tough games against John Hardin and Paducah Tilghman, and a loss to Elder where they continued to battle when down. They didn't lose focus in those games and I doubt that they will next week either.
