I will never be convinced that pit bulls make good pets. Not. Ever. "A family dog attacked and killed a 3-week-old child in a home on Kalamazoo Avenue around 6 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017.Preliminary investigation indicates the child was left home alone with three dogs. An adult found the child with a severe head injury and one of the dogs had blood around its mouth." And these parents should have all children taken away from them. You...

Just curious with what you mean by "only 2 true U18 players". Was the rest of team younger players playing up?

We went to Disney's Animal Kingdom. They have the Harambe village there. One of the guides said that people always ask him if it is named after Harambe the gorilla killed somewhere in "Michigan".

I teach at a Catholic school. On Fridays I tell my students that their weekend "homework" is to attend Mass with their family. At the end of the school year, a student told me that he can't wait until he is 16 and has his license so that he can go to Mass. :(

I'm with you here. Sure--I will visit other churches at times and think, "Wow--what a cool, dynamic, young priest." But I still go to my regular parish most of the time. There is something to be said about the routine, "boring", no frills Mass. I'm there to: 1. Worship 2. Listen and renew/recharge You could say "lather-rinse-repeat". But if you are a regular Mass/church goer, it becomes "addicting" in that you WANT to go back next week.

My 89 year old dad has one for general mobility as he uses a cane or a walker. He no longer drives. When one of takes him out, we take his tag so that we can park in the handicapped spot. That's the only time it is used.

THIS. THIS. And again. Cheaters never win. If they do this without a second thought and without it bothering their soul, I have zero respect.

To this day, when I am visiting him, I'll say, "I'm going to jump in the shower now." He always says, "Don't jump in the shower. You might get hurt." :lol2:

Agree. I go to all and celebrate all. Who are we to judge the significance of a child's accomplishment? How do we know the work put in to get there. And finally, what if this one "graduation/promotion" is the last one they ever have? You never know what tomorrow will bring. #noregrets

On 8th grade graduations especially from parochial schools---this is a tradition that goes back a long, long time. Way back when, school ended for many at 8th grade. My dad is 89 and he recalls that not everyone in his small 8th grade class went on to high school. For many students, they had to get jobs to help the family, or work on the farm, or take care of younger siblings. So 8th grade graduation marked a big time in their lives.

We went over Christmas. Stayed at the Carribean Beach resort. The fast passes were amazing. Will also offer this up---if you have someone in your party that has some kind of medical issue preventing them from waiting in a long line for hours, get a copy of the medical diagnosis from your doctor. We did this. Then at each park we went to guest services with the paperwork, allowing us to get a couple additional fast passes for the family each day....

I think they are great fun. The problem is that they are also very distracting to other students. For the purpose of "occupying" the fidgety student, I prefer the fidget cube.

For the Harlan Coben fans---I enjoyed reading this piece: The following article originally appeared in the Newark Star Ledger CORKYA tribute to my mom By HARLAN COBEN Sometime in the early Seventies – I can’t remember the exact year – my mother became the first female umpire in New Jersey Little League. My mother was known to one and all as Corky. Like that. One word: Corky. Like Cher or Fabio. And as befitted a one-word moniker, Corky...
