Bellevue did win a couple of football titles thirty something years ago, and had a little success in basketball over half a century ago....and I guess they won a couple races. But the reality is that Bellevue, Newport and Dayton should be combined. They could probably put together a competetive school. They would have enough students to allow them to stop catering to the kids and their parents. If the kids didn't want to act right, ship them to the Campbell correctional school. That way the teachers could get something done in the classroom and the enabling of these students and parents could be thwarted. I do not think it is a snub of the nose to point out that other cities in just as bad (worse in many cases) socieoeconomic situations are getting it done in the classroom while places like Bellevue and Newport continue to fall behind. Of course it would make too much sense to combine the three...you would save too much money by not paying 3 Principals, 3 Superintendants...etc

should be a good game. It was a good half last year. Perhaps if Pike and a couple others do not have to play both sides of the ball Dixie could put 4 quarters together against the Birds?

Goose is a great kid. He is also a great competitor...just seems to have that extra motivation to give everything he has. Wherever he ends up playing at the next level will be lucky to have him.

If he says yes alot and has been neutered he will be a perfect fit.

Neither Doleman or Neltner were prototypical big men like Jake or Jack. And Mustang, Jake has nothing to be embarrassed about. There has already been a poster who has stated he would take Jake defensively. My goal from the get go was to talk about the best centers the area has seen. I think it is the ultimate compliment to be compared with one of the areas best evet. Even if you come in a distant second, third, fourth or fifth. Simply put, the comparison is the best this year vs possibly the best ever. Why not talk about it? If I was a player I would be interested to know how people think I stacked up. The results would certainly not be anything to be embarrassed about.

No disrespect taken here. I agree. I just thought "if" Giesler is the best big man the area has seen since Jennings, how would they stack up? Has there been a better big man since Jennings?? If not, it is remarkable that the best big man the area has seen in 20 years can't be seriously compared to Jack. How about the 20 years before Jennings? Anyone?

I don't know if it was the Bird's pulling away as much as it was the Wildcat's giving it away in the 3rd quarter.
