  1. George Rogers Clark---7 West Jessamine---5 Owen County---3 Henry Clay---2 Lexington Catholic---1 Tb. GRC
  2. Very dominate game for the most part by the Indians. The defense was solid and line kept pressure on the qb all night. Great win to build on.
  3. One thing that isn't mentioned is that two of Tates Creeks touchdowns were on kickoff returns. Also both teams were kicking onside every time to prevent big returns. It's a lot easier to put up 52 when your only going 50 yards. I think this is going to be a great game, but Henry Clay will win. HC can light up the score board. As for the defense, they cause turnovers. All it takes is a "bend without breaking" style of play and Henry Clay will win. HC has ball hawking DB's that make plays. The key is to stop the run. HC 38 SK 28
  4. If you would like to see the game Coach Columbia has it on film. We would watch it at the beginning of each season. I know for a fact he has the Trinity game.
  5. I think Trinity is the team to beat without question. I also know that this is a game in which crazy things can happen. For example replay the 1991 4-A state championship. GRC not only upset trinity to go to the finals, but then beat St. X in the championship game. This was a team that was much smaller in numbers and hand most their players playing both ways. Not saying Trinity won't win it all, but if the stars are aligned just right there could be an upset. Who knows maybe Henry Clay's new high powered offense can stride at the right time, or Ryle show the NKY is for real. That my BGP friends is why we love high school football and the playoff system (just had to throw a punch at the BCS style lol).
  6. Anyone that thinks Conner will dominate or beat HC is nuts. Boone and SK didn't even see our stars at work. Since Vinny Miller has moved to quarterback the score board has exploded. Unless you have a track team that can blanket the recievers it will be a long night. I truly doubt Conner will be able to keep up offensively with HC's firepower. HC 63 Conner 24
  7. 7 Henry Clay 5 Franklin County 3 Danville 2 Anderson County 1 Casey County TB-Henry Clay
  8. Very poor taste by the coach. IMO not only did you show that you are heartless, but you also showed that this one player is above the team by trying to get him the record. I have no clue the abilities of this young man (sound pretty darn good), but it wasn't done alone. I can remember plenty of times in high school were we pulled players after half time to show some class. To be a grown adult and get pleasure in beating down young men, who have worked hard all season, just to have your name in the record books is as low as it gets. What ever happened to a team victory, in which your JV gets some action? Way to go coach. Kept your reputation up.
  9. Henry Clay has finally been able to put all thier weapons on the field (something they couldn't do in the two losses this season to to suspension). It is obvious that the offense has become explosive which allows the defense to play with a little more laxity. This in my opinion has worked out great for the defense making them even sharper. TC's loss to GRC shows holes in this strong team that I believe HC can key on. HC-45 TC-28
  10. 7 Lexington Christian 5 Lexington Catholic 3 Tates Creek 2 Mercer County 1 Anderson County TB Tates Creek
  11. I think this could be a good game depending on which teams show up. I have been very close to both teams this season (more so to Henry Clay) and have noticed both teams beat themself. Henry Clay can not keep guys off suspension or turning over the ball in silly situations. GRC has been plagued with the penalty bug. If GRC comes out and sets the tone earily I feel they will have a strong chance at this game, but if they don't and Henry Clay gets a little confidence then GRC will be looking to play from behind, which has never been a strong suit for the cards. The keys to this game if you ask me are the following: HC Jerry Williams-health Carwell Gardener-If he can play based on suspension Vinny-Is he going to be at QB or WR/ His attitude Minimizing the turnovers Managing the game STOPPING THE RUN!!! GRC Get started early Establishing a dominate run game Putting the ball in Pokey's hands Offensive line (they will be facing a lot of speed) Pass Defense( including containing the QB) Penalties Another interesting thing to ponder is the fact Henry Clay was on fall break this week which has be a plague in years past. So who will show up? The explosive, speedy Henry Clay Blue Devils or the home town boys that play with an angel, The Cardinals of George Rogers Clark? Be ready for some good football in the bluegrass state tonight. HC 35-24
  12. 7 Henry Clay 5 Boyle County 3 McCreary Central 1 Lewis County 1 Larue County TB Henry Clay
  13. Henry Clay should be fully loaded this week with all their skill players back from injury/suspension. The only key absence this week will be DT Ryan Smith. He was tossed from last weeks game so will be watching this week, but I don't think that will be a major factor. HC by 24
