From my understanding, there will still be an East and West division in the classes. Districts 1-4 would rotate playing and 5-8 would rotate playing. Might have been told wrong, but that is what I was told.

This reminds me of the presidential election! Apparently, the schools overwhelmingly supported this move (close to 80% on the voting) but fans are upset. It is just like the 4 teams making the playoffs argument. Every time there is a vote, the schools approve to keep it but the fans complain. There is a disconnect somewhere! Let's just be fans and support our teams!

I don't think it was offered to be turned down.

Nobody said that it affected the games or the kids. I am sure anyone that makes it will be excited regardless of where you play it. Just saying that it made for a better atmosphere.

Could be, but I remember Papa John's feeling empty for most of the games.

Pros and cons to this move. It will be more centrally located but the smaller stadium at WKU made for a better atmosphere.

True, but he still worked at Fleming County High School until late in the fall. The reason he gave for stepping down was "family reasons".

Not sure that math is correct. All the coaches before Matt Taylor were there at last 2 years. They previous 3 left for reasons concerning their families. Brian Kelly left because his wife and daughter were in Tennessee. It was too much time away from them. Mark Starnes left to get back closer to his wife in Henderson County. Lamont Taylor left for family reasons. Matt Taylor is the only one that was "let go".

Ok, I'm just a fan. I have said my part. I will step back and wait to see who our new coach is. Good luck to all involved!

All have had a hand in hiring coaches and running the youth leagues. They might not be as involved as you would like but they at least claimed them as their feeder system and helped out as needed. Coach Starnes went as far as to take balls away from a group because they were "his basketballs and not theirs". He complained when he was informed it was duty to run the youth league and pawned it off as much as possible. Let's quit beating this...

I agree, to a point. They knew he was only going to be here 2 years. He announced that every chance he got. What they didn't expect was that he would totally alienate every other kid other than the studs. He spent no effort working on any of the young kids and wanted ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the feeder systems at any level. Now, you can say, that's what they get when you bring in a guy for 2 years but I think you expect them to have...

I'm saying there is not talent like there was then! A group like Burns, Steward, Saunders and Crisp doesn't come around very often! They were a very special group. I think Fleming County is like most county schools and talent will come and go. They will always have a few good athletes but truly gifted groups like that are hard to come by.

What is Starnes record since he left? I know he has been fired at least once since then. He came in when we was loaded and left when the talent did.

You are 100% correct. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I agree that he had to deal with a ton of adversity this season with injuries, suspensions, etc... If this move was for wins and losses alone, it would be different. There was things outside that that came into play. Again, I hope Coach Taylor lands on his feet and has success. I also hope Fleming County can find success.

I guess they are terrible at everything. My fault for thinking otherwise. Sounds like they need you to leave the crowd and lead them.

That's a pretty broad statement. Fleming County has been pretty successful in many sports.

Do you think that was their intention when they hired him? Sometimes you just have to part ways. I think there is more to this than just wins and losses. I believe for everyone involved it is best to just say, they agreed to part ways. I hope Coach Taylor lands on his feet and has success and I hope Fleming County finds their man and has success.
