10 Good
  1. It is official. I was fortunate enough to be with family, former little league coaches, high school coaches and friends that were at the Laumann house last night for the signing. Seem to be real happy with signing bonus and College Scholarship Plan that was negotiated into contract. It's off to Orlando Wide World of Sports where the Braves Gulf Coast League and Spring Training facility is located. Good Luck to Jackson and congrats to him for his hard work.
  2. Heard a radio interview with Jackson tonight and then confirmed he is signing with the Braves next Wednesday. Congrats and good luck to Jackson. A long road ahead for a 17 year old, but a great opportunity to learn to play the game the professional way at a young age.
  3. I beleive half the roster has to be from a 300 mile radius and the other half national. In a 1 game situation, as baseball goes, anything can happen. When it gets into tournament play or a longer series it would a whole different game. Also, Midland uses only wood bats while their opponents use aluminum if they want.
  4. Was told at a summer league game a couple of nights ago that Jackson Laumann and Jake Cain were voted CO-9th region players of the year.
  5. Clyde, sounds like you are the one that is the closest to being right. I've seen all of these guys and Justin Carzoli from Boone is as good or better defensively than all of them.
  6. Pretty sure all the 1's would agree that they don't want to have to face Conner in first round.
  7. Laumann is 6-0 with an era of 2.52, Teegarden 4-2 with era of 3.72, Stanley coming off what I heard was a great game against NCC, a 7 inning shutout, and Shwartz has been solid all year. Coach Huff has tough decisions to make depending on draw. Dixie, NCC, and Cov Cath will have tough decisions on when to use Sexton, Cain, and whoever CC thinks their number one is depending on their draw. If they hold them till Wednesday then they won't have for final. Should be interesting.
  8. No. You have proven my point for me. You split with NCC. I think that is .500. And if you think Holmes and Lloyd are quality opponents you need to get out of Ft. Mitchell a little more often.
  9. I still haven't got home yet from the Conner game, which mysteriously did not get any posts from the mighty TIGERS. But I did see the Villa and Bellevue posts. You people are a joke! please pay attention. I said you'll be judged rest of year by the opponents that are at least .500 and that makes it 1 and 1. Which is what you are a 500 team. Maybe you can get that scheduled season opener with Heritage reinstated.
  10. One of the better posts I've seen. I've been told most of these kids are good friends and often play on the same teams in the summer or in showcases and allstar games.
  11. I guess we'll see in the last 3 weeks when they play Cov Cath, Boone, NCC, Ryle. And not judge them by Dayton, Holmes, Bellevue, Villa Madonna, St. Henry, WV, and Newport.
  12. Pretty typical of Beechwood to try and find an excuse. Maybe if they scheduled and played teams that they were not going to beat by double digits everyday they would be prepared to compete in close games against good teams.
  13. Great post Cooperstown. Right on on all of your points. Beechwood being ranked in this pool is an absolute joke. It is at times hard for some of these teams up here with their lack of depth to beat some other teams because they can't use top pitchers to save or win games in order to have for seeding in district games. Talked to someone from Boone and they couldn't use Teegarden or Laumann to hold leads in two of their games because they needed them for seeding games. I saw where Louisville St. X came up here and played Cincinnati St. X and they used their ace to pitch against them. That is a real advantage in High School baseball as most teams don't go more than 2 deep with quality pitching.
