Hollis should be back in a couple weeks from what I've been told. Beginning of Feb. Ill be around for the district and region tournaments. Extremely busy with work during basketball season so don't get the chance to make it out to regular season games like I used to.

Kyle Bolden of Colerain is visiting this week end...while he might not be a statement recruit from a ranking perspective (3*), he is definitely an important kid to try to keep home.

Bad team or not, at the end of the day it's another top 75 win on UC's resume. I simply stated they are a dangerous team when they shoot like they did last night...and used examples of West Va and Florida State to prove it.

Temple shot 12-26 from 3 for the game and was 11-18 from the field at the half. For the comment about Temple being "a bad team"...they have wins over top 10 ranked Florida St and West Va on a neutral court, so they are an extremely dangerous team when they are making shots like they did last night.

Conner has split with Ryle this season but did beat them by 13 in their second meeting. Also beat Lloyd at Lloyd. As far as Conner/Newport, I don't think Conner would lose to Newport ....unfortunately, we won't know an answer to that since they didn't schedule each other this year.

Another week, another shake up in the 9th region rankings. A quick look at each team's record after the top 3 shows you just how close the rest of the top 10 are. With a little over a month left in regular season play, here is where each team stands. 1. Covington Catholic (15-4) After losing to South Laurel last week, the Colonels responded with blow out wins over Winton Woods, OH (74-36) and Newcath (69-41) and followed that up with a win...

4* WR Danny Davis is scheduled to visit UC next weekend. Visited West Va this past weekend. Sounds like the Bearcats might have a realistic shot with him with Fickell recruiting him personally. Ron Crook was listed as his lead recruiter from West Va and he is now the o line coach at UC. Read an article where his parents like UK because of proximity to home (Springfield, OH) but with UC getting involved, that could change.

Listed at 6'3 206 so my guess is he ends up being a big physical safety that also plays some OLB.

Good news, local high school football coaches. Luke Fickell knows you’re alive. He might actually show up at your school. Not just to speak at your stag, or walk the sideline for a few quarters at a home football game, but to talk to you in person. What a concept. We’d say Tommy Tuberville was a ghost at Cincinnati high schools, but that’d be an insult to ghosts. Even they have to be around once in awhile. Otherwise, who’d do the haunting? ...

Another big time get for Fickell today as 4* safety RJ Potts chose the Bearcats over offers from Notre Dame and Nebraska, among other Big 10 offers. Potts is the son of former Colts FB Roosevelt Potts. Looks like several big time 2018 kids in Ohio are also talking about going to UC together, including top 25 nationally L'Christian Smith. UC gave him the interesting opportunity of playing both football and basketball as a scholarship...

Again...tripping isn't that big of a deal to me. Some of you are just sensitive and want something to reach on since it's Duke. Mitchell and the other Louisville player from last year had much worse actions/reactions than Grayson sticking his leg out to trip someone. That shows immaturity more than being a "punk".

If that had been any other player instead of Allen, I'm sure the responses of both UK and Lville fans in this thread would be much different. Nevermind the fact that Mitchell also got away with taunting earlier in the game when he made a nice move to score on Grayson then ran up in his face and started jawing.

An "adult" labelling a kid a punk... :lol2: What Mitchell did today was much worse than Allen tripping. If Allen did that to Mitchell would you take the same stance? My guess is no.

Louisville player reactions were much worse than Grayson tripping...I guess those players should be labeled punks too, right? And anyone who knows me, knows I'm far from a Duke fan.

Any one else notice Donovan Mitchell take a cheap shot and smack Grayson Allen in the face while on the ground? Dude should have got T'd up and maybe even thrown out of the game if the refs would have reviewed the play.

Frustrating to see Holmes continue to lose but to say Mike isn't a good coach is ridiculous. I'm not going to get in to details but Mike is running that team and program as best as he can and is doing what the administration is asking him to do as far as developing these young men both on and off the court. Sometimes it's about more than just wins. Next season they are a preseason top 3 team with all that they will return. People forget how...

These are the most popular UC unis that have come out in a while ....and they won't be available for purchase to UC fans. Really disappointing that whoever makes that call for UC/UA came to that decision because of branding/licensing. A lot of fans were looking forward to the opportunity of getting the shorts/jersey.

My wife works with a big time OSU booster who has several close friends within the football program. The story given to him was: "Snap was sent out well before anything went to the administration ...it wasn't until she was told that he didn't want to be "exclusive" that the snap became an issue and sparked a title IX investigation." I don't think Urban Meyer would publicly speak about being against the University's decision if his player...

Urban was against the suspension when the university announced it, so that's all people really need to know about the situation. Just a case of a college girl getting involved with an athlete, wanting more, athlete telling her no, and her getting upset. But yes it involved a picture...that she knew about well before this all went down.

Was HC still using Holmes' field for free in the most recent years they used it? I want to say they did for years and that was one of the reasons those around Holmes were upset when HC said "no" when approached about splitting the cost of turf to cut back on maintenance costs. Holmes has been extremely generous and fair to HC over the years if what I have been told is indeed true. Maybe you can shed some light on the issue from an HC...

    12. The Commissioner ruled Jenkins ineligible last week.

HC is made to look like the bad guy in this situation, however all they are doing is making sure that the rules are being followed. The easy thing to do would be to allow this to happen. The difficult thing is to stand up for what is right.

I believe the kid got really bad advice from some adults and was easily led. It's a shame that he is the one suffering the consequences, however kids cannot, and should not, dictate to adults what they are going to do.

    8. SC sent transfer documentation, as the receiving school, to HC. HC forwarded the completed transfer form to the KHSAA, noting that there should be an investigation.
    9. The KHSAA allowed the transfer. HC inquired and was told they did not send any supporting documentation.
    10. HC did bring supporting documentation to an appeal hearing, which was attended by SC, as well as Jenkins family.
    11. The hearing officer ruled that this was not a valid transfer, but that the Commissioner had the final say. All of this took place before the beginning if the season.

    5. He was upset because he was required to take core classes. He wanted to take PE again.
    6. He texted Larry, my brother, and told him he was transferring to Scott County "for basketball reasons." Thanked Larry for all he had done for him.
    7. Last summer he played AAU ball for a team that was coached by a janitor at one of the Scott County public schools. Two other players, one from Madison Central the other from somewhere else (each their schools top player) transferred to Scott County

Walter, here's the skinny on the DJ Jenkins situation:
    1. I am the brother of the HC Head Coach, preceded him as the HC Head Coach.
    2. DJ and his family rent a home that is owned by our father.
    3. DJ attended HCHS at the beginning of the school year for 3 days.
    4. At some point during those 3 days, he was reprimanded at least twice for shooting in the gym without adult supervision, during times when he was supposed to be in class.
  5. Saw him in practice the other day. Looks like a solid player.

    You related to him?
