  1. From the score it looks as if the Highlands program shows their class. I was really supprised that this wasn't far worse. Congrats to the Birds and good luck the rest of the way. I hope my Lions come away a little better team.
  2. Good game by the Cougars. They've come a long way over the last few years. Boyd County seems to be quite a bit better too, but still got some work to do. Good luck to both and congrats to the Cougars in a well deserved victory.
  3. Valley played better than I had expected, but turned the ball over every time they threatened to score. With only 28 players dressed, losing 2 was a big hit for them also. Best of luck to them. Cain Cooksey, Brandon Bryant and Justin Holcomb I believe is who the Daily Indepent said got ejected from the Boyd County side, but I never heard who the 2 Valley boys were. As for the what's and why's I'm not sure. I've heard about ten different versions on what started it. I hope Coach Brooks gets the tempers in line, this is not what you want to be known for in football.
  4. Nobody needs any reminder of who CCH is, but looks like some may want to remember who the Tomcats are. They are the only team to finish a game within 4 points of the #1 team in WV. They are the team that held the Belfry very potent running game to 7 points. They are also the team that held J.J.Jude to 83 yards. I defintely believe that CCH is the better team, but they are going to be in a game and a tough one having to drive over 2 hours to play at Putnam Stadium. Should Ashland pull this out I seriously doubt they can hang with Highlands like CCH did, but I don't think CCH can do that twice. But I have been wrong before, yesterday in fact, I picke Alabama to win. So I'm not perfect, but I'm usually pretty close.
  5. This is a toss up, but I'm going with Lawrence County.
  6. No doubt Highlands is going to have their way against the Lions, but I'm sure Boyd County will play the best they can till the final whistle blows, that says alot about their character. Congrats to the Lions on the win.
  7. I kind of thought Fairview would have scored a couple more times, but still a solid win for the Eagles, congrats.
  8. I got to go to work now, is this game on the radio?
  9. It may well be another 2 game series. This will be the 1st true test for the Eagles. I've seen those who compare the common games and I hope the Rams are not doing the same, Fairview pulls the starters early in the 2nd half and rarely touch the field in the 4th quarter. The Rams may well step up this week and prove me wrong. This would not surprise me from such a storied program, I still feel the Eagles win this as long as they don't go in thinking they've won before they even played the game, which may well be the case. It's hard to blow out opponents week in and week out and not realise you're coming up on someone who can play with you even on a good night.
  10. I don't think the rivalry will close the gap between these 2 teams, Fairview wins this but will have to work for it.
  11. Boyd County moved the ball alot better than I expected, but just couldn't find the end zone. The Lions were just way over matched in this one, but that seems to be the case for all who play the Tomcats aside from what is considered by many to be the best team in WV, who also had their hands full I must add. I won't lie, I'm not a Tomcats fan, but they are on a mission this year. I doubt they get beat again untill they run into Highlands or maybe Covinton Cathlic. Good show Tomcats and congrats.
  12. Once again total domination by the Tomcats. The Lions are still a couple years from being competitive with the Cats again, but we faithfull will patiently wait.
  13. I know Ashland made it a long night for the Red Devils but Russell is about to show everyone how big the gap is between the Tomcats and my Lions, they're 2-1 with what may well be the easiest schedule in Boyd County history. This should be a no contest, the Lions are much improved over last season but still nowhere near where they should be.
  14. I think the biggest difference in Faiview's game this week will be the opponent name change from West to East, otherwise the rest should be very similar.
  15. I just don't think the Dawgs will be able to get alot of offense without Bentley. My big question is can the Bulldog D hold this potent Tomcat attack...I have my doubts. I'll say Ashland but just can't come up with a score, too many varibles for 1st game.
