  1. I'm getting a little tired about hearing how Ryle is down this year. Truth is, 21 seniors lead this team, many of whom started last year. I forecast that Ryle will roll through their District schedule as a result of playing tough teams early. Truth, they did not get the job done at all at Cooper. But the very nice bounce back win last week and the rejuvenated commitment to the running game and power football will be much trouble for other district foes. The O-line sprung Pulice for 149 yds and Aulick for 96. I suspect they'll try the same stuff tomorrow night against Colerain. We'll see how powerful that line really is tomorrow. But guys, Ryle is nowhere near "down". Mark my words.
  2. This will be a tough game for Ryle. They do this to prepare for district play. You only get better by playing the best. Playing Pulaski County and Holmes before districts will only bring you down.
  3. Lots of praise to go around for both teams. Fuller was solid for Holy Cross but he was out dueled today by Downs. Really gutsy performance by closer Tanner Pulice battling all the way back from 3-0 on the last batter. Didnt look outside to me and i was right behind the plate. On the black and called that way all day. The next two pitches were no-doubters. Congrats Ryle!
  4. Early game/momentum changing play from #5 Jeremiah "Jet" Williams - a great blocked field goal on Ryle's first drive. Then great work against Ryle's WR to stop any Ryle play outside the tackles. Congrats to Jet - best game I've seen him play this year.
  5. Never seen better hands on a kid at this level than Goose's. Unbelievable one-handed diving catch on the first TD for Dixie.
  6. I didn't think that was Cov Cath's JV when Ryle scored to make it 28-28. I came away thinking that was a tie. 28-28.
  7. I agree wholeheartedly here, Guru. Also, big night for specific players that haven't had a chance to play a lot at this level and/or are new to the programs. Specifically, Nathan Davis for Ryle. If he is strong, look out 6A.
  8. Anybody see Ryle play today? I heard they looked way better than expected for a "rebuilding" offense. Nathan Davis at QB, Elliott, Pulice, Lehmkuhl and Nutter supposedly looked good. They might surprise a few people if Davis can spread it out a little.
  9. Go see this year's Ryle Raiders - Next year's team (that will face your Cardinals) will be substantially different. Treat yourself to the best of Kentucky football - in any Division. And don't underestimate the Raiders' ability to make this close - or even pull out the victory. Be there to witness history!
  10. BTW, it was Senvisky (#24) who called the fair catch. Check the pic above. He looks to be near the ball to me.
  11. GREAT GAME FOR BOTH TEAMS. What a treat watch. And the Highlands players handled the defeat with much class. I was told that while the Ryle students rushed the field and disrupted the end of game congratulations, all Highlands players patiently waited and told the Raiders to go win state once the handshakes continued. CLASS ACT, Highlands.
  12. Very impressed with the balance showed tonight by the Raiders. This was no match. Hempel had lots of time to pick receivers and the ground game was solid - not dominating. The timing in the passing game looked good with Hempel to Huntley a number of times. This is the first dominating win I can recall for Ryle where Elliott didn't have 1 or 2 long TD runs. Very very solid game by the Raiders. The boys in Union look to be clicking at just the right time.
  13. Elliott has 250+ yds in this game with 3 or more TDs. Ryle wins by a longshot 47-3.
