Doesn't matter what the hands or the bat were "doing", but where the bat was. If any part of the bat is in the strike zone on an "offer", it is a strike. Sounds as if the batter did not remove the bat from the zone in time...

It is my sincere hope that neither of you will ever be in the position to have to deal with a situation like this.... If you ever are, then I hope you have some really strong faith and a good support system.... Until then, anything you may say about a situation like this holds absolutely no water and is nothing more than a opinion with no basis in reality.... ....and I don't care what you or anyone else thinks about my posts on this...

While they are two very different things, they do not exist in exclusive vacuums. In many cases, the criminal behavior and mental health manifestations are intertwined and difficult to discern between and within. You can't disavow one in acceptance of the other without examining the origin and manifestation. Rational behavior is rarely an excuse for otherwise unexplained actions.

You refer to it as a charade. Does this limit one's ability to see it as a manifestation of a potentially more serious mental health condition ?

It does directly involve her medical history, in this case, and no, employers are not even remotely entitled to that information. I think it's entirely possible that the charges will be reduced or dropped due to the conditions surrounding the case, for all the same reasons listed before. It depends on what I am hiring someone for if I believe that past history is relative to a hiring decision. You are insistent that this is purely a...

Exactly correct, and rarely should the two be mutually paired to arrive at a conclusion about a person's ability to perform work...very rarely.

Future employers may want to know, but do not have a right to know a person's medical history...that is the law. Employers do not have a right to know anything except what they are entitled to, which would be some felony convictions, in some cases. If she is convicted of a felony, yes, but she is not likely to be. Additionally, a felony should not be a permanent bar to employment...that is part of the problem with our criminal justice...

You really want to go down this road of permanent label and notification ? This is a huge step into a police state mentality. My question for you: Let's say you have a serious disease, it's debilitating over time, but not yet manifesting itself so that everyone can tell you have this disease...you go to the doctor, get diagnosed and know you have it. By your logic, that doctor would be required to notify your employer you have said...

Admission Standards are not mutually exclusive as it relates to certain mental disorders. Think the difference between academic deficit and emotional / mental deficit. One is not dependent upon the other to be admitted to a university

So you will fail to apply what appears to be her actual illness as a logical reason why she would have done this ? That seems short sighted. While your rage at cancer must be individually justified, my question is why do you not care "why" or "how" and believe it to be inexcusable ? If she was diagnosed with dementia and did the same exact thing, would you dismiss her lack of capacity and continue to believe there was reason for her...

You severely underestimate the power that mental health issues can possess over an individual. This is not a rational approach on her part, but most are attempting to apply rational thought to the "how" someone could do this. Assuming she has mental health issues surrounding this. We should all be just as concerned that the severity of her condition has created this situation, as we are about her previously reporting she had cancer. Why...

Agree with this, but how many other times have you seen coaches do this after a tough loss and nobody goes over the top on the actual officials ? I'm a huge UK fan...season tix, tattoos and all....this is wrong and I'm still not sure if I'm more ashamed of the fringe fan base or Ashley Judd going off the rails.... ...I guess I got 7 months to think about it

I thought from Day 1 this sounded like Munchausen Syndrome. Underlying causes are often emotional / trauma based. It's unfortunate that the majority of people that will see or read about this case will go automatically to how vile she is, rather than step back and see this as a very severe and often misunderstood mental health condition. Difficult to treat at best....

I don't necessarily disagree, however, I think that if he's available, and it's a game that needs his level of expertise, in no way should the fan base of any team ever have the ability to "scratch" an official because of their behaviors. Higgins is total professional and one the most highly rated officials in college basketball. The idiots of the UK fan base have shown their true selves, many are still railing about it...with no basis. I...

I work with some people close to this situation....it would appear that the statements above all have some validity. This was about business, but done by someone who was very aware of the business practices and personal patterns of those involved. There is an abnormally high concentration of questionable persons in this area that are not necessarily native to the region....but they are locals....
