  1. If you look closely at the video McQueary has his back to the basket. More likely, Bradley or Prescott gets the rebound.
  2. Can anyone verify the new twist to the story that the referee that called this foul on Langley (that decided the game) went to Boone County and called 10 fouls on Cooper and 0 Fouls Boone county in this game? If so, absolutely scandalous.
  3. Time out was called. Anyone that saw this game would have to agree Cooper won.
  4. The video is very telling. You can show it to as many impartial observers you wish. No doubt it was a terrible call. Cooper won that game. Case closed
  5. Yes, I'm a fan of Cooper Downs. However, he should have never been to the free throw line in that game that call was just one of many that the refs gave to Boone County. Just for the record I never, never in my life have blamed the refs for a basketball game. This was a mistake. Boone county should have been able to win without the help of the black and white stripes. But, they didn't!
  6. Cooper Basketball is in it's third year of existence. The first two years were pretty rough. These boys have worked hard and been coached hard for three years. They didn't win many games the first two years and I never heard of any of them make excuses and complain. They played and still play hard right up till the very end of every game. Now in their third year these boys (and coaches) are starting to have some success (although improvement is still needed). So, please forgive me for thin skin when they do get a victory and it seems to get chocked up to poor play by the opposition. I would prefer to think of it as fruits of hard work and determination.
  7. I'm sorry if this sounds trite, but I read what he wrote. You could have copied and pasted his comment. Please understand my point, Cooper's defense makes teams look "sluggish". Can I make it any plainer?
  8. Please, no matter how many times you say it, or how many different words you use, (sluggish, exhausted, tired etc) it implies that if Pendleton Co. had somehow been "well rested" they could have beaten Cooper. I'm not sure you would want to go there. Many teams this season have underestimated Cooper. The fact is, their margin of Win/Loss has been very close. I suspect Not once during any of their losses did the Boys at Cooper made an excuse such as I was too tired.
  9. Oh come on!!! Stop! This game was won by one team playing great defense. Not, by someone being "tired". I suppose withering defense dose make the other team look tired.
  10. So, Ryle one of the top teams in the 33rd district isn't an offensive team? Lets just say Cooper is way better than you give them credit for and leave it at that.
  11. Anyone who has been watching Cooper this year should not be surprised. The Jaguars are close every game they've played this year. I really feel sorry for the team or individual who doesn't take Cooper seriously.
  12. Box Score: Conner 65, Cooper 55 Conner (1-1) - Way 2 1 7, Liechty 4 6 15, Miller 4 0 10, Flesch 1 3 5, Richardson 1 2 4, Robinson 5 0 10, Hodges 5 1 12, Ernstes 1 0 2. Totals: 23 13 65. Cooper (0-2) - Thompson 5 1 11, Langley 3 2 8, Bradley 3 2 8, Klute 0 2 2, Schafer 1 0 2, Prescott 5 2 13, Webster 3 2 8, Maniacci 1 1 3, Totals: 21 12 55. Cooner 14 12 16 25 - 65 Cooper 5 12 14 24 - 55 3-pointers: Conner 6 (Way 2, Miller 2, Liechty, Hodges); Cooper (Prescott).
  13. Both teams coaches wore ties. I was told it had something to do with both schools have a "Randall Cooper" Relationship. (Ryle had him as a principle and the other obviously was named after him) I hope it becomes a tradition.
  14. What no one is really saying is how close this game was to ending in a tie in regulation. When Ryle scored their last touchdown to go ahead in the game there was only 1 minute 24 seconds left on the clock. I don't have a son in Cooper's football program, but I have been watching them regularly. I really think Cooper football showed everyone that they can compete with anyone in the area. Please don't give me the line about Ryle having a bad game. (as someone mentioned earlier post) I feel that Ryle had the best game they could have mustered against an underrated Cooper team. Please don't tell me Travis or Conner had an "off night". They had an "off night" because Coopers defense made them uncomfortable and pressured. If they were not ready for the game then their scouting sucks. Cooper has lost to Holmes by one touchdown (ranked somewhere around 8th in the coaches poll) and they lost to Ryle by one touchdown (ranked 2nd in the coaches poll) Just to review, they beat Scott by a bunch and Llyod by a bunch. I think it's time to admit Cooper deserves to be in the discussion.
