10 Good
  1. From what I understand, Carroll County from the 8th regional should have a good team. They have about 10 seniors who have been playing together since they were very young.
  2. Without a doubt politics and reputation is involved. This would seem fairly obvious by the names on the list because there is no way all coaches see these players. Except for the kids, who really takes any of these lists seriously?
  3. I agree with Mike, I'll have to take Owen in this one simply because of their height. Owen should contain Burns easily. Should be a good game, too bad I have to work.
  4. Working on a tobacco farm. Hard, hard work.
  5. :ylsuper: Congradulations to a fine young man, this is a great accomplishment
  6. Maybe the sophomore took the shot even though it wasn't planned that way. That has been known to happen on occasion.
  7. We just returned from down south and heard about this horrible tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and all of the Gallatin community.
  8. Gallatin always enjoys an advantage of playing at home (boys and girls). Been this way for years. However, Williamstown did miss some opportunities.
  9. I wasn't aware of this real life football story. Guess the wife and I will have to get out to the movies to see it and not wait for the DVD. Sounds like a good one. Too bad there's not more football scenes.
  10. A nice cold beer. Even stocked up for the snow that's coming in.
  11. DC Craig and Zack Wise of Carroll County are two of the top players in the region. Wise was invited to a Sophomore showcase at UK last year, I think. I'm not much of a baseball man, but I'd like to get out to a game this year when it warms up to watch them as I have heard a lot of good things. This group has been playing together for many many years and this could be their year to make some noise.
  12. So many things discussed here are completely out of hand in high school sports, whether it is football, basketball or baseball. You can come to our games and see parents sitting on the first or second row coaching their child from beginning to end, parents who know nothing and I mean NOTHING about the game screaming at the officials and/or coaches and making absolute fools of themselves to where others around them are totally embarrassed for them to even criticizing other players (which to me is the absolute worst thing you can do). You can look around at the parents and if another player makes a good play or scores, they won't even cheer unless it is their child. I've watched this for a few years now and am so glad my children are out of high school as this was really not the case when they were coming through the program.
