  1. I think he may be try to catch Curtis Turley from down in the western part of the state I believe he did the same thing in the latter half of his career.
  2. I wonder if any of his players from Charleston will transfer to Louisville. The had a nice guard I liked from Cincinnati Kobe Rodgers. I think he played his high school ball at St. Xavier of Cincinnati. They also had an athletic forward 6'9 James Scott he is just a freshman and 11 vs. Alabama in the tournament.
  3. Pike Central coach Ronn Varney has resigned as posted on Mountain Top Sports Facebook page. Varney was 11-22 in 3 seasons as the Hawks head coach. The team this past season started off great winning their first 4 games and 5 of the first 6 then went on to lose their next five games to end the season. They defeated Martin Co. 9-6 in the 2nd game of the season then in the playoffs lost to Martin Co. 43-3.
  4. Louisville has agreed Pat Kelsey on a five-year deal sources told ESPN on Wednesday.
  5. CBS's Jon Rothstein is reporting today that Kelsey and Louisville will come to terms "barring something unforeseen" -- a day after there were reports that New Mexico's Richard Pitino was a top Louisville target. Kelsey has spent the last three seasons at Charleston, compiling a 74-27 record and guiding the Cougars to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances the past two seasons. Kelsey, 48, started his college coaching career as an assistant at Wake Forest in 2004 and spent five seasons with the program before becoming the associate head coach at Xavier — his alma mater. Kelsey coached nine seasons at Winthrop and compiled a 186-95 record at the school before taking the job at Charleston. Louisville was in discussions Wednesday with Kelsey and Indiana State coach Josh Schertz, the two serious candidates for Louisville's opening. However, Schertz, whose Sycamores team is still playing in the NIT, decided he wasn't interested. which opened the door for Kelsey to take the job if he wants it after Louisville and Kelsey negotiate terms.
  6. Yeah, I’m basically talking about the postseason she had more success. I don’t think I’ve ever been over the top about Cal, I just see him for what he is which a WHOLE BUNCH of people are doing that now, especially the national media!! and I love comments back, that’s what makes this site so much fun
  7. Yeah, she was, doesn’t matter HOW or WHY she won the SEC tournament, what really matters is she DID IT!! Yes, she had a great player, Cal had the National Player of the year and didn’t win a SEC tournament, both won 1 NCAA tournament game, Elzy was 8-3 in SEC tournament in those 4 years, Cal, 1-4, everything else was fairly even so in my opinion the SEC tournament success compared to Cal’s makes her more successful during that time span.
  8. Cal needs to watch yesterday’s show of Cowherd. Had Mark Few on the show. Cowherd said you always seem to be calm on the sidelines, how do you do that?? Few: ”Because I know me yelling and screaming and losing my mind isn’t going to help them”
  9. Cal will be back for his 16th season. Here is a link to the Cincinnati Enquirer from the meeting between Cal and Barnhart today. Kentucky basketball: John Calipari reportedly back for 16th season (cincinnati.com)
  10. Probably will, unfortunately. Even if Cal agrees to Mitch’s changes it’s not going to make him prepare better, be a better in game coach or not panic on the sidelines in big games Ouch!!! Just saw a comparison of Elzy’s 4 years at UK to Cal during the same time span, Elzy was BETTER!! Again, OUCH!!
  11. Hey @TheDeucedoes Kelsey being a former colleague of Chris Mack at Xavier possibly hurt him or not?
