The lack of media attention is probably a couple things. One, there is a LOT of other true sports stuff happening right now - NFL, College football, NBA opening and MLB playoffs. Two, perhaps the sports networks have become jaded on doing hard news stories after all the heat they get from the public and lost viewers.

I think it will attract top players and it isn't the $125,000. The ability to get shoe deals and endorsements will do it. I can see the shoe company money drying up for the illicit college deals and shoe companies offering big clean bucks for players to go to the G league.

Average 40 time for an NFL tight end is 4.77. Average 40 time for an NFL defensive end is 4.88.

How fast is Buten number 26 for Highlands? I ask because I saw Mayer relatively easily run him down and gobble him up on one tackle. Mayer is making tackles from sideline to sideline from his middle linebacker slot against fast running backs.

It is a fine line that you walk when you get into the discussion about who to vote off. You have to be very careful about throwing out people's names and about being too pushy. Natalia came on a little too strong and pushy. Contrast that with how Davey handled the situation by being very laid-back and letting other people tell him what to do while planting seeds against Natalia. Davey was very smooth in how he handled that situation last night...

Beyond the controversial call, that game was an unbelievably good baseball game. If you didn't see it you have to at least go back and watch the last three or four innings. Even knowing the outcome you will be on the edge of your seat wondering who's going to make the next great play or get the next big hit.

Yes, first inning. No way anyone can say if it is a home run, that Houston wins the game. Everything that happens after that in the game changes and there is no way to predict what would have happened.

The call on the field by Joe West was out because of fan interference.

I agree with the above. Betts catches that ball if not for the fan interference. I also don't think the ball had crossed over the fence at the time that the fans made contact with Mookie's glove. Could someone post the rule related to fan interference in this situation? I saw it last night after the game and after reading it it made me think it should have been fan interference but I can't relate the specifics here without having the rule...

We are getting closer and closer to showtime. This week will wrap up the district races and set the stage for playoff time and elimination football games. The top teams in the rankings did what was expected with no major upsets. Here is where we are district by district. District 1 Crittenden County continues to roll on. They had no problem with Fulton County in a 59-8 win. Sr. RB Devon Nesbitt led the way in this win with 189 yards on 18...

A lot of things at play in this game for Lynn Camp: Lynn Camp on track for an undefeated season and Williamsburg is the main obstacle left. Lynn Camp trying to get over the hump and win a district title against the district goliath. Lynn Camp dealing with the tragedy of losing one of their coaches in a car accident. There will be high emotion for the Wildcats and a laser focus on winning this game. I have no doubt the effort and...

Nice job. That looks accurate with the big caveat that several of those round one slots are not decided yet because of games still to be played.

Is this any different than what is happening in high schools? A LOT of great athletes quit playing football, basketball, baseball or other sport to pursue just one sport because they are pursuing that college scholarship. Same thing on a different level. Almost every high school can name kids who would have been starting and maybe even great high school players in one sport who quit that team to focus on another team/sport. Often times a kid...

No one's stats get padded in these lopsided games. The starters play less than a half on offense. They usually are starting each offensive series with a short field. If you look at average per game stats, these lopsided games probably hurt player stats. The starting RB gets less than 10 carries and the starting QB throws less than 10 passes. There are no stat benefits in these games, especially the way Beechwood handles their starters by...

I don't think there is anyone from Paintsville on the site. If they are, they have not posted all year.

McCrae was on the Bengals show last night and admitted he messed up. He said it was a pick play. He said the Bengals knew the Steelers would run that play. They practiced against it during the week. McCrae was supposed to play inside technique and instead was head up on Brown and outside of Hunter. That allowed Hunter to step between McCrae and Brown and keep McCrae from getting to Brown to cover him.

It is always easier looking in slow motion versus real time. However, when you watch this video, there is zero doubt it is a pick play. Twitter Here is what I see: 1. The contact is initiated by the Steeler WR #11 Hunter. He takes a step to the middle to impede McCrea's path to cover Brown. Freeze the picture where the first contact happens and you can see #11 steps to impede McCrae's path to cover Brown. 2. First contact occurs more...

On the Scott County game, I think that is a horrible matchup for Highlands. Highlands is not big on defense and Scott County is a big power running offense. I haven't seen that game but I am guessing that Scott County just ran it down Highlands' throat all night. I think the same thing would happen now just based on personnel in the matchup. To a certain extent you have to throw that game out unless Highlands is facing another team with size,...

Look at Southwestern's entire resume and give us your opinion on where they should be ranked. That is what I based my post on, not one game by them or one game by Highlands.

I think the most competitive one and most difficult to predict is Kentucky Country Day vs. Frankfort. The Raceland vs. Paintsville game is the headliner in 1A because of where they are ranked but I think Raceland wins that one by at least a couple TD's. Although Williamsburg at Lynn Camp is pretty interesting since Lynn Camp is undefeated and came so close to winning that game last year. I don't think Crittenden County will have any...

It would be hard to move Highlands above Southwestern. They are undefeated, have blasted almost everyone on their fairly tough schedule AND they have a better win than any win Highlands has (beat 6A #6 Henry Clay, who has a win over Scott County, who destroyed Highlands). South Oldham might be ranked too high. I could see them at #6 with Southwestern at #4 and Highlands at #5.

If you watch the video at the 3:23 mark, it is clear the ball was out of the end zone. I am saying not even close because any unbiased person who watches the video can see it is not a safety. Yes it was at the one yard line so it was close in that sense but there is no doubt from the video that it was not a safety.

I put the blame for the loss in two places. 1. Marvin - The reason the Bengals got no pressure is because of their game plan. The Bengals game plan versus Ben is don't blitz, collapse the pocket to keep him from extending plays with a controlled rush. But if that game plan leads to a record of 2-14, shouldn't you try something different? It isn't working Marvin. 2. Lack of execution - The Bengals players did not make plays and the...
