  1. This is disappointing to hear! Coach McMillian put a lot of energy into building the program. There is a lot of enthusiasm with the players and at the school. I am sure it was a tough decision. I respect him for sticking with his principals. They have a number of committed assistant coaches that will keep things moving until they find a replacement. Coach Brad Strong has been running the lifting program, very motivational coach! Woody will keep after all the guys in the hallway. Confident that the AD will make a good hire!
  2. Josh Rump is listed on the Goergetown website as a signee!!
  3. WV just recently had it's first football signee, Gregor Peebles signed with Georgetown. This is pretty exciting for the school. There was a previous post on this, but it didn't mention the school name. The link is to an article on cincinnati.com, I presume will be in a future Boone Co recorder. Guess this proves that kids from small schools have a chance also. Link to the story.
  4. Cocoa Beach has a nice beach! The Expo was not very impressive, looks like it was nice 20 years ago, fields were average, the stadium was rundown, did not look like it had seen paint in quit a while. That is a parent's opinion from 2008!
  5. Not bad for a first year program! Georgetown is a nice school!
  6. This was a very good game! Very few penalties, maybe 3-4 whole game. Game was tied at 8, then 16, WV forced a punt, started a drive, but a fumble ended it, TC took a knee. WV was able to stop the A-11, but not #5, he was able to keep moving the chains. As a WV parent, I was very proud of the players and the coaches. WV entered every game expecting to win, they end their season 4-6 with a 6 point loss to Trimble, 3 point loss to Cooper and a 1 point loss to Gallatin. I have watched many of TC vs WV baseball, softball, basketball, voleyball, always competitive! Good luck TC.
  7. Congrats to WV players and coaching staff. From what I understand, WV only has 6-7 seniors that get significant playing time, but they represent a good part of the Off and Def line, some of these young men will need to eat their wheaties and hit the weight room. Should make for an interesting 1A race for 2nd place next year!
  8. Having watched Walton play several times this year, I was suprised that they started the game in a "prevent" defense, 3-4 with extra safety, they always played a 5-3 before that. This, I presume, was to slow down the Cooper QB, Romero, didn't work. WV scored first, but Cooper had 3 TD's in first quarter, another early in the 2nd. WV went to 5-3 and put their DE's back on the field, Cooper did not score after that. WV also missed all of their PAT's/conversions (4 points). Fourth quarter was very exciting, fumbled return, interception. In the end, WV could not throw the ball well enough to come back. Active crowds for both teams, it was a good environment!
