  1. Please don't blame this applicant for BCHS not doing their homework last year!
  2.:confused: I see that you are not willing to at least say that the better candidate was looked over. I hope that CP proves to be the coach that he has always dreamed to be. Good Luck to Bracken Co. and there new coach, Coach Persinger!
  3. Your right, at least CP has been a Head Coach for........... Oh Yeah Bracken Co. Girls Softball, and the JR. High!
  4. Why be so close minded! If you didn't have a name on either resume, be honest, which would you chose?
  5. Give me a break! The bottom line is that the hire was just made to appease the aggravated parents! No I was not on the committee but I am good friends with one of the applicants that did interview and his resume blows CP's out of the water. NAIA final four, Class A state champs, State tournament appearance, College recruiter, Teacher of the year twice, just to mention a few! Lives and breathes basketball for the last 15 years of his life!!!!
  6. Bottom line is that BCHS settled for seconds at best! Other applicants were much much more qualified! What a shame that you guys don't have all the information about all the applicants! Oh well the parents are happy, but if the correct applicant would have been hired it would have been a win win for BCHS's students, athletes, and parents!!!:ohbrother:
  7. Isn't it important for the varsity coach to have a good relationship with all the other coaches in his "program"? Last that I heard a lot of the Chad supporters know that the relationship between Chad and the other JR High coach is far from on the same team. Why do you put a softball coach, at best, in a situation where it is vital to work with other coaches he doesn't see eye to eye with. Congrats BC on your part time basketball coach. You need a full time coach to build a program from the bottom up and you passed on the best candidate. So now what I see is BCHS has hired a part time basketball coach and took a full time softball coach away from a successful program and now has made that also a part time position. Open your eyes people you let the best man walk away!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. His relationship with the Jr. High is not a good one. Chad and the other Jr. High coach do not see eye to eye and in my opinion you have to have everyone on the same page to have a successful program. So I guess BC will be teahcing a few different philosophies as usual and there will be no "program" just basketball playing. Congrats BCHS on your part time basketball coach!!!!!!!!!! To build a successful program from bottom up your coach needs to be coaching year round, not around softball! By the way there is a huge difference between girls softball and boys basketball.
  9. Bracken Co. be watching for Coach Jeremy Miles' name, he will be coaching champions somewhere in the state on and off the floor!!! Bracken's biggest chance to put themselves back on the map and they blow it!!!!
  10. Another bad choice from BCHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hire the best candidate??????????
  11. You are not interested in an outsider????? Who would you prefer? Persinger? If you are a player or a parent of a player think of a couple things.... He is an excellent girls softball coach..... He will not give this up..... Do you want to share your coach????? Softball in Bracken Co. is almost year round. Basketball needs a coach that can give 110% to the boys he will be coaching.... The boys need individual training as well as team training. I can't see a coach coaching two varsity sports with a family and a teaching job having time for this.
  12. Hello, my son attends Bracken County and is an upcoming player in the program. I would like a coach who brings more than just basketball to the plate. I want someone that will teach our young men the importance of discipline, respect, and a good attitude. After doing some research and talking to other people, than I think our best choice would be Coach Miles. He definitely has the experience needed to set up a top-notch program in our school. Nothing against the other applicants, but if you weigh his experience and credentials against the other applicants, than this should be a no-brainer. Just because Bracken has been burned the last few years by out-of-town coaches does not mean that Coach Miles will do the same. He also can offer some of our better players the possiblity of college scholarships--I hear he has lots of connections at the college level. Why not give our boys the best possibility to making it to the second level? Haven't seen many of our boys varsity players going to the next level lately--even though there have been plenty with potential to at least play at junior colleges. Parents of current BCHS Polar Bears--keep your minds open and think about what is best for your boys!
  13. You are correct about that. Cite base was not 100% for the coach choosen.:idunno:
