This is a great college choice for Vance and a good fit. He was one of the best players in the state and should have been considered for Mr. Basketball. Take Vance off of Franklin Co.'s team and they are under .500, no doubt. Remove Justice from Shelby Valley and his team would still probably win their region. I am not trying to put down Justice at all because he is a great player, but if they switched spots and Vance was on Shelby Valley instead of Justice, he would have stronger statistical numbers and they would still have won the title. Once again, not putting down Justice because he is a great talent, just saying Vance is better. He also should've been UK's walk-on choice, but I think he's better off playing at Wright State than being UK's practice scrub anyway!
It should be a better game but I would guess a final of 4-1 in FC's favor if Riddle and Thompson both pitch. FC's score will be much lower but it should still be enough to beat Western Hills with Thompson at the mound.
One question I have is Orlando Rutledge from Fern Creek. Seeing them play twice the past summer he was their shooting guard and was not 6'6'' but about 6'0''. Anyone know about this kid?
I know there is lots of politics in this but I'm not sure how a player can lead a middle of the pack regionally ranked team to the top of the rankings in the toughest region and not even be invited to the tryouts.
Jackson has the most upside of point guards, and may be the best point in his class, but Ethan Faulkner is the best true point in the state throwing in all the factors. Ball handling, vision, shooting, strength, heart, and leadership.
