  1. District pairings are set for next week and one of the biggest district games (according to Louisville Courier-Journal) is the Manual/X game at Male. This one was a tight contest first time around with Manual winning 70-68. I would say atleast half of X's losses have come on last second shots this season. The ones that stick out being Ballard, Fern Creek, Moore, and Manual. Does X have what it takes to pull out the big one when it counts and send Manual home early? What does everyone think about this match-up? What are the keys for both teams?
  2. St. X has a very nice team, they just need to find a way to get over the hump in big games. They may be one of the more underrated teams in the region. Hopefully as things continue they can find a way to win late in ball games. Good Luck Tigers!
  3. After watching a lot of X basketball the past several years and watching this team so far this year, I would say that X is often overlooked and not considered competitive given their region. No X is never going to be a 7th region favorite over teams such as Ballard, Manual, Eastern, Male, Trinity, and so on, but they can very much be a darkhorse that can spoil a season for a big team. I think this 08-09 team will surprise a lot of people this year, probably winning games that shouldn't be close. You can't get lazy on this tiger squad, they may be the scrappiest bunch to roam the halls of a poplar level school. X also tends to play very well in this tournament, I know they upset LexCath in front of a sell-out crowd 2 years ago. Look for Monday night to be interesting. Also, What kind of squads does Madisonville and LCA have? I saw Madisonvilles record, but I have a feeling that their record doesn't reflect the quality of their team. I know they played in the KOB tourney as well. Go TIGERS!!
  4. As much as I would love to see this and as much as X's offense has demolished everyone that has stood in their way, I just can't see X doing this to a rock team twice in one season. Bean is a great coordinator and win or lose the rocks will be much better prepared for the Tigers in this go-round. Both of these teams would put a running clock on ANYONE in the lower bracket.:fire::fire:
  5. This seems to be the most focused Tiger team in a while. If they stay focused with the game at hand and take this one step at a time, then I don't think there is anyone that can stand in their way. I think they have come up short in years past and are now much more focused (atleast based on their margin of victories). I look for this to be the year of the Tigers.
  6. Does anyone have the final 6A bracket or know where to find it? I know the C-J had one in there a couple weeks ago? What do the first round match-ups look like? ITS PLAYOFF TIME IN THE BLUEGRASS!!:ylsuper::ylsuper:
  7. St. X doesn't operate like that in general. In my 4 years there we were never in the business of running the score up on people. It does no good to run the score up on teams and make them feel more degraded then they may already feel. Give a lot of teams credit, they line up against teams like X, Trinity, and HHS week in and week out knowing they don't have a chance to win. But yet they fight for 4 quarters never giving up, there is no reason to disrespect them and drive them into the ground. That is not classy in the slightest. I have no respect for people that run the score up and attempt to disrespect kids that are giving their whole heart and soul to their team. On that note, Go Tigers, keep up the good work:thumb:
  8. I predict a running clock at some point in the 3rd quarter. X 56 CCH7
  9. I am not saying that this will be a close game, I agree that X has too much depth for Central to stay around for 4 quarters, but look for Central to come out and punch X in the mouth early. Central is always a physical team that loves to hit people. They will come out swinging in this game and punch X early, but in the end X will be too much. X 34 Central 10
  10. Agreed!!:thumb: Ill take X 34 Bengals 10:lol:
  11. I know National Polls don't mean a whole lot, but X has run through KY pretty well this year and has been firing on all cylinders. How would this year's St. X squad match-up against the Cincinnatti, Tennessee, and other regional powers?
  12. I think rain, snow, sleet, hot, cold, dark or light St. X has the advantage in this game. However, since the forecast is calling for a good amount of rain tomorrow night, what kind of ground game does PRP have and will it be effective against X's stingy defense? Does PRP run the Wing-T offense, I could be wrong but it seems like in years past they have. Good luck Tigers and hope that neither team has any serious injuries in the nasty weather.
  13. Can someone send the link to the ESPN poll, I can't seem to find it. Has it moved since last year on their website?
  14. I do, but I am talking up to that point. I don't think anyone in the regular season can keep it close to X. How would the playoff picture shape up prior to an X vs T rematch?
  15. With 4 games remaining in the regular season, can anyone challenge St. X? They are @Butler, @PRP, vs Central, and @ Covington Catholic. I know Central has a good team and PRP is supposed to be decent, but do either one have enough offensive fire power to put up points on the stingy X defense? And is there a defense stronger than Trinity's that can stop a high powered X offense? I really feel like Trinity is going to be the best team X will face during the regular season. So the question is if X stays focused and doesn't lose sight of the prize, is there anyone that will challenge them the rest of the way?
