Unfortunately, Trinity fan showing their "best" on UStream - very classless and poor (or accurate?) reflection on Trinity: 9:41 wopppppppper: RYLE SUXXXXXXX hahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahha 9:42 wopppppppper: watever RYLE SUX... keep telling yourself that is why ryle lost 9:43 wopppppppper: wonder how many raiders r passing their classes??? 9:44 wopppppppper: yes, great season looooooosers
  3. T announcers getting upset? That's classy!
  4. I know Drew McDonald has a very good game. He's at an age where the Musselman-Dunne, Kentucky State Junior, and the Junior PGA Series will be great experience for him. I probably should include the AJGA too but my son never played in one of the their tourneys. It's good to see promising talent in Northern Kentucky. Hopefully, one of our teams will bring the state trophy home one of these days. I'm looking forward to the state tourney!
  5. So, we won't be able the answer the Drew McDonald question this year. I don't see him on the State tee sheet. In the meantime, Blake Hamilton won the 7th Region Tournament. That's his 4th medal of the year! That's much better than two Ryle alumni playing D1 golf right now (Cody Martin/UK and Andrew Desmarais/Cincinnati). At the end of the day, I believe that Justin Thomas is the hands-on favorite (he's on the tee sheet). Hunter Stewart and David Snyder should challenge as well. I would look for Nate Johnson to do score well too. Cameron Beal might be up there too. 1. Justin Thomas 2. Hunter Stewart 3. David Snyder 4. Blake Hamilton 5. Nate Johnson 6. Cameron Beal (t-15th last year) 7. Todd McDaniel (t-11 last year) 8. Fred Allen Myer (t-22 last year) 9. ?? 10. ??
  6. Bowling Green Country Club (again) - thanks to sponsorship by their local Buick dealer
  7. If KHSAA follows the same method for tee times as last year, I'm predicting that Ryle and Mason County boys will tee off together Friday a.m. Should be fun!
  8. Region 7 (Northern Kentucky) had their regional today. Congrats to Covington Catholic who claimed the regional championship. Ryle and Cooper tied for 2nd and went into a play-off. Congratulations to Ryle who won on the 2nd playoff hole. This is the 8th year in a row that the Region will be represented by Ryle and CovCath. Three guys then had a play-off for the final two individual qualifier spots. Congratulations to Adam Millson (Cooper), Austin Molen (Cooper) and Jason Rose (Dixie Heights) for making it through to State. I believe there are a lot of fingernails on the course after the play-offs -- lots of nail biting moments.
  9. I believe you have to look at more than one tournament to make the call on who is top in the state. Blake Hamilton has won 3 tournaments this season. And, just because Blake beat Justin Thomas in one tournament, it doesn't mean that Blake is top in the country (as is Justin). While Drew McDonald plays very well, I would not put him in the top 10 in the state. After Drew shows success at the high school level over time, I'll then put him in the top 10. My 2 cents!
  10. Yes, this is for the Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference (NKAC) -- it includes at least 2 of the KHSAA Regions for golf.
  11. Ties are not common in high school golf. In 9-hole matches, they can happen. In tournaments, there are play-offs for 1st / 2nd.
  12. My son played with Fred Allen Meyer at the State tournament - even though he was very young (8th grade?), he played and behaved like a champion.
  13. Sorry - I didn't mean to imply that LCA shot low because the course was short. Instead, my assertion is that other teams couldn't shoot that low from the red tees.
  14. Outstanding! Can any other team come close? From the red tees? That has to be some kind of team record.
  15. I believe Cooper is stronger than Ryle this year. Ryle has Blake Hamilton who is arguably the best player in Northern Kentucky; however, the team will include at least 3 8th or 9th graders. Cooper gave CovCath a scare in Region last year and return all of their players. CovCath has the most experience but was inconsistent last year.
