  1. Teachers in JCPS make as much as most head coaches make with their coaching stipends and teaching salary. For instance look at Oldham County Rank I at 12 years and JCPS. As a teacher and head football coach in oldham you can't even equal just a teacher salary in JCPS
  2. Anyone heard anything on Ballard?
  3. Honestly...probably not. If the districts still rotated probably so, but most successful coaches are probably going to stay away from this job. Just my opinion. It is a great teaching position, great school, but in terms of football I think it's just an average job with the other level of competition you play against
  4. Do we really know who interviewed for the position? On here there was speculation that it was Farmer, King, Stallings of Moore, and a Westport coach. I have been told they only interviewed 3 people. So one or more of these names are wrong.
  5. In the past it does seem to correlate to having success and that those jobs propelled those coaches forward. Currently we have not seen those who had success recently get the better jobs in the county. For instance Manual hiring a guy out for three years instead of maybe going with one of these guys. Who knows though, maybe they didn't apply. I believe they are a filter because with open enrollment it would seem that these are some of the tougher jobs to win at, when other schools like Male, Butler, Central, and Manual are taking the best and everyone else has to coach who they get. As far as a stepping stone I feel it depends on the coach. Some guys are happy to be where they are. I know Farmer would have never left Doss, unless he went to Male because that is where he graduated from. As far as schools using this information to hire coaches, I doubt it. It would be smart, but I doubt it.
  6. Some of those older coaches Mike Egan Seneca 34-50 Chris Wolfe- Waggener 46-25 Bob Redman Waggener 32-22 Bart Bruner Western 15-25 Jim Bunting Doss 54-66 Ty Scroggins Doss 22-30 Steve Serotte Doss 14-16 Mark Catlett Fairdale 22-15 Current Guys Coaching Bart Bruner ST X Def Coord Lakunta Farmer Doss 41-41 Chris Wolfe -State Champ Ty Scroggins -Mutiple State Champ Jonathan Miller Fairdale: 35-23 Preston King Valley/Iroquois 23-31 Matt Wright Fairdale 14-21 Torrey Shinholster Western 20-28
  7. Untitled Document It is up to 2008. The rest you can pull from KHSAA.
  8. In Jefferson County if you are at the schools like Doss, Western, Valley, Southern, Seneca, and a few others and win 40% or more of the games you coach over a 4-5 year span then I would consider most coaches in that area to be a really good coach at the Centrals, Manual, Butlers, and Ballards. Steve Vessels used to have a website that had every metro team updated, and if you look at the records of coaches that were what I refer to as really good coaches in JCPS, most are around 40-45% of wins over their careers at those type of schools.
  9. What has Coach Lucas really done is a question as well. Coach Nichols went 56-35 which is 61.5% win percentage at Manual. Coach Lucas went 45-26 at Manual which is a 63% win percentage. It's not like he took them to new status in my opinion. They stayed steady, that is all.
  10. Glaser is a great coach, as is Redman, but rather than hire either one of them why don't they search for the next Glaser or Redman. Look for that local person that fits into that mold of winner at schools that don't traditionally win. Male hired Wolfe, who won at Waggener and look where they are. In my opinion Manual should do the same.
  11. Rumor is that Bellarmine is starting a football program and they want Glaser to be the first head coach. Don't know how true it is though.
  12. The DL's resides school is Fairdale is what I heard. Only place he can play is Fairdale if so. I also heard (the DL) was at Waggener all summer though. In Jefferson county a kid that is on a hardship transfer can only play in their resides school if they are exited from another school.
  13. The candidates who applied should be kept anonymous anyway. Why on earth do you put who applied in your newspaper. Most coaches would not want everyone to know, especially if they don't get the job. What ever happened to confidentiality!
