  1. All valid points Bulldog77, I think the "love" was probably because Villa experienced a series of firsts this season (wins, district runner-up, and regional berth). Bellevue has been a solid program from the Swauger days and through all the coaching changes. I will say congrats to Bellevue, and good luck in the regional. Side note... How many coaches since Swauger?
  2. Actually, I think this is the best chance Villa has. I know the two previous meetings were not that close but, drawing Cov Cath or HHS could have disastrous and Conner is on their home floor. Any team that can shoot has a chance.
  3. Ludlow impressed me, a very gritty team. Villa hit shots when it counted and their big time players stepped up in the end. Villa has a definite uphill road from here but, any team that can shoot is dangerous. My only question is when will HS players stop leaving their feet to defend jump shots. It drives me crazy
  4. Villa is clearly the superior team this year. They have defeated Ludlow at home, at Ludlow, and a neutral site (Dayton). But it is very tough to beat someone four times. I hope Villa wins simply because they have never been to the Regional tournament and will probably struggle to do that after next year realignment.
  5. Lucky Dog keep things in perspective. This season Villa has more wins already (13) than any other season. They have a winning record against the Region, District and I think they are second in the conference (I think). Barring injury to key players and/or drawing Dixie in the District tourney, I think they have a legitimate chance of playing in the Regional tourney. All in all a pretty successful season for a school of 175 kids.
