  1. i'm not sure it's the team that's as inconsistent as the reffing in the final 6 minutes of the game.
  2. Final score from Friday night in Morehead. 3 by Menifee's Caleb Howard wins it.
  3. Final from Olive Hill. Justin Moore has his boys playing really well right now! Congrats!
  4. Ashland Independent - Menifee rips Owsley BOONEVILLE — Menifee County blistered Owsley County’s zone in the first half with 10 3-pointers and went on to a 110-86 victory on Thursday night in a boys basketball game. The Wildcats (3-0) were 10 of 14 from behind the arc in the first half. Twins Patrick and Blake Greene scored 23 and 20 to lead the attack. Caleb Howard had 17 points and David Meeks and Cody Peck added 13 apiece. It was the most points Menifee County has scored since putting up 114 against Wolfe County last season. Owsley County fell to 1-2. Menifee County (110) — Patrick Greene 23, Blake Greene 20, Caleb Howard 17, David Meeks 13, Cody Peck 13, Sparks 2, Hacker 2, Hunt 5, Moore 3, Walton 5, Swartz 7, Daniel, C.Welch, Brooks, S.Welch. PF: 26. 3-pointers: 13 (Meeks 3, Howard 2, P.Greene, B.Greene 3, Moore, Walton, Swartz 3). Owsley County (86) — T.Murrell 10, Williams 13, Evans 38, Johnson 10, Peters 19. 3-pointers: Williams 2, Evans 2, Johnson, Peters. MENIFEE CO. 17 34 28 33 — 110 OWSLEY CO. 15 25 19 28 — 86
  5. You're all forgetting about Menifee this year. The Green boys are going to be really tough to beat. Blake Green will be a top 5 player in the Region. This is a team that lost only two seniors (only one starter), won 16 games and will be deeper and more confident this year. I believe they are a top 3 team this year and will contend for the title.
  6. I hate to disagree about the coach deserving COY honors on this. Not taking away from what he's done (or the players-Congrats to Elliott!), but he really hasn't done anything different than what he's done since those boys have been in there, so to award him for consistency doesn't make much sense. There's much more appropriate COY candidates out there (insert shameless plug for Justin Moore right here). I'm still waiting for someone else to point out who else has had a 13 game turnaround in the 16th with no players on the starting five that were even close to being top 10 in the region, probably not top 20. Just sayin'....
  7. Show me another team that has a 13 game turnaround this season in the 16th. You can say what you want about losing the only game that matters and I'd point out to even be in the position to get where the Wildcats are at is something most won't understand. It's not about just winning games, it's about changing the culture of the program and that doesn't come easy. Everyone wins and loses, but COY is about doing something more than just 'winning when it matters'.
  8. Either one of those makes sense to me. However, Justin Moore deserves COY hands down. Team was picked dead last in the Region and they've won more games this year than they've won since 1968.
  9. Menifee by 7. Rowan has been playing well, but Menifee has also won 6 out of their last 7. I think that Menifee's defense will be the key in this one.
  10. Final. Congrats to Coach Moore and the boys for one heck of a turn around this year! Finished 16-10 for the season! 13 game turnaround from last year. From what I understand, it's the most games they've won since 1968. Quite a season for the Wildcats considering many had them at the bottom of the region. The Rowan/Menifee game should be a tough one on Tuesday.
  11. They won this game without their big kid who was out with the neck injury. They're definitely headed in the right direction.
