  1. as with A-Town Pride i havent seen many freshman games this season though tomorrow i will be heading down to Bourbon County when they play two or three games down there. from what i've heard they blew past Bracken County and i havent heard much about the Mason County game. Yes I think he did attend Bracken County for awhile but he came to augusta in the sixth grade and these boys have been playing together since. Great Chemistry
  2. The game was close throughout but a big 3rd and 4th quarter defensive spurts helped Augusta pull away and keep the cushion for the win.
  3. Yes this freshman team is a very talented group of boys. Brahm Hamilton and Wyatt Thorpe also play varsity now. Also Wyatt is the cousin of Derek Fryman the senior guard from last years squad. Corey Moore also presents a shooting threat but has developed his game into more of a slashing attack. Clay Krebs; this kid continues to impress me with his smartness and consistancy to score and also with his work on the boards. Brahm also brings to the table the calm and collectiveness that a point guard needs. Brahm and Wyatt make for a great backcourt tandum. Jordan Linville has a great shooting touch and Jameel Halawanii has a knack for getting to the basket. Finally Dustin Ruf has worked on his post game and continues to improve and will be a HUGE inside presence when he fully develops his game.
  4. Thanks for the stats big blue. Big win for St. Pat they worked hard. I hope my Panthers can rebound from this and get a win vs. Burgin at home next friday.
  5. ^ Yea I thought that would spark their game winning run, but I was wrong. Ty Krebs hit a big three in the fourth. Always a tough place to shoot for the Panthers.
  6. St. Pat just hit shots down the stretch. Augusta couldn't get them to go in when they needed them most. Shawn White how ever showed a lot of heart he never quit he kept fighting for those rebounds and tried to put them back up, but couldn't get one to fall. Chris Mofford had an ok game on the boards it could have been better.
  7. I agree with all. Mofford put up big numbers tonight congrats to him. He just needs to put up numbers like these all the time. Ryan Kelsch also had a good night with 21. He started off slow but found his rythem and went with flow. That is how basketball should be played. How bout Stephen Gibbs? He worked hard from the first second he went into the game to the final horn. On paper it doesn't seem like much, but if you was there you would have seen a very solid game from this young man. Shawn White had a quiet night. Even though his scoring wasn't there tonight he kept the team running like a well oiled machine. He was calm and poised at the point guard spot which led to some nice assists by him. Ty Krebs had a big third quarter which helped keep the lead and pushed it out a little. Great job on the boards big fella. JoJo Gray hit the glass well comming up with a key rebound off a Colten Fraysure missed second free throw. Finally Colten Fraysure also had a quiet night but his presence was felt with some of his key passes and shot selection.
  8. I'll have to agree with PK, Polar Bear 1994 and AHS Panther 23 nothing like a good ol' Augusta vs. Bracken County game. It's not only a great atmosphere for the players but also the fans it brings back memories of their playing days. This not only happens here, but also in gymnasiums across the state. The Panther Den in Augusta is by far the best for it though.
  9. Augusta did not have any intention to go out and play dirty. Coach Kelsch knows what he is doing and would take out a player if he saw one of them playing dirty. If you wanted Augusta to go in and lay down for the Royals you were dead wrong. That is not Augusta style of basketball. Those boys play from horn to horn with a lot of pride. There is a never say die attitude down in Augusta. The bottom line is Coach Kelsch has instilled so much class in these boys that they wouldn't do that to anyone or any team.
  10. If you remember back in 2004 when Chris Lofton won Mr. Basketball. I don't know if he had already committed to Tennessee yet but that didn't affect him winning the award. What are they going to do now take it away from him because he signed with an out of state school? I don't think so.
  11. I agree ugly win but the panthers still stuck it out. Derek Fryman and Dustin "Shooty" Staggs hit some cruical free throws at the end. It was also good to see Ty Krebs back in uniform.
  12. Does anyone know what time the championship game starts on Saturday.
