  1. Huninghake is a Senior this year. Hatch is not playing...ineligible. Bellevue will depend heavily on Buckler - Brock and a couple of underclassman. Bellevue can get the job done if the boys get the right mindset. Eckstein has worked them hard this summer and the teamis looking forward to starting their season. JV team should also do quite well this season again. Only lost 1 game last year.
  2. I coach girls track & field. I am curious about shot put throwers across the state. Who is throwing good this year? I coach one young lady who threw a 34' 21/2" at the last meet. How are you girls doing? Regions & State will be here before we know it. Thanks,
  3. It should be one way or the other. But at least the draw gives the smaller schools a chance to play. Otherwise it would be the big schools or the private schools with their 'select' teams year after year. If it is seeded, districts need to be redrawn. Maybe to match what was done for football.
  4. Remember that Highlands got by Bellevue by only 6 points. HHS last 8 points, I believe, came off foul shots. Anything can happen!!
  5. Keep beating that horse!!! High school ball needs a shot clock. It keeps the game going and keeps the coaches coaching. I have coached both high school and AAU ball with the clock. AAU is a much better paced game where you must coach and do more. I think the foul problem would be addressed by the clock also. If you hvae only a limited amount of time to get the job done, the other team knows they have a chance getting the ball back and will play a more patient game.
  6. Who else made the all tourney team? Congrats to the young lady's listed above!! Bellevue - Alyse Slater Dayton - CC Centers Ludlow - Ashley Daugherty Newport - Tjuana Feldhaus Holy CRoss - Ana Noll Beechwood - ?? St. Henry - Rolf Yes, there should have been a redraw. NO team should get that lucky. VMA was Bellevues 3rd game in the tourney. Bellevue had already beaten VMA twice before this meeting. The Tigers were tired and had to play a team that was fresh.
  7. As both a coach and an official... Holy Cross did not totally blow that game themselves. There were a couple of critical calls that just didn't go the way they should have. Watching that game, HC is definitely the better of the two teams.
  8. Bellevue lost big to Ryle, as predicted........67 - 24. It was ugly. At the half the Lloyd - Newport game was only a 3point difference to Lloyd. I don't know how it ended.
  9. I have watched him played for the last 9 nine seasons. He only gets better as he gets older. If Ricky were to get any size to him, he would be DANGEROUS!!!
  10. The easiest way I found was to post a list of those who made the team. I think we have become to politically correct in worrying about hurting someones feelings. The kids are TRYING OUT for a place on the team. They should know that there is a real possibility that they will not make the team. Also, know how many you are keeping before tryouts ever begin and announce it. If you keep 12 and only 13 show up, they know that one will not make it. Disappointment is a part of growth into being an adult. Don't deprive the kids of a much needed lesson in life!
  11. Some programs are too small to make cuts. You keep everyone that comes out and hope you get some talent in the gym!!!
