  1. This becomes an enrollment issue and the player is not covered by the KHSAA catastrophic insurance. I would hope that a coach wouldn't jeopardize his career for something like this. The young man could get hurt or hurt another player; and the coach, school and administration will be sued. Once again, to be covered by the KHSAA insurance, the player must be enrolled in that particular school and considered a member of their team.
  2. Yes, the game did end at 1:00 a.m. South's Offense had a difficult time moving the ball on Eastern for most of the night. Eastern's defense is very fast and closes in on plays quickly. South took a 7-0 lead into halftime. Jay Gatto (sophomore) intercepted Eastern's QB and returned it for a TD. Gatto also caught a TD in the 4th. Qtr. Eastern scored 3 scores in the 2nd. half to take a 21-7 lead with 1:40 to go in the game. Kollenberg took a swing pass 64 yards down to the 1 yd. line when SO scored its second TD with Gatto's catch. SO then onside kicked the ball and got the ball at the 50 yd. line. 2 plays later, Cody Malone catches a 48 yards pass from Meek down to the 2 yd. line. Meek later scores on a scramble run. Eastern scored on its first play in OT and SO had several plays to score and on the last play the ball hit a player in the hands and he dropped the ball. I will name the player because he played his heart out. Unofficial stats, SO had 247 total yds. on offense and Eastern had 302. Eastern did have great scrimmages beating John Hardin and Nelson Co. in both scrimmages. South Oldham is starts 6 Sophomores and 6 Juniors on both sides of the ball. We also play several freshmen on special teams. Things do look brighter for the South Oldham progra.
  3. Final! South Oldham dropped a ball in the back of the endzone that would have sent the game into double overtime. Eastern is very fast on defense. South Oldham played their hearts out.
  4. Coach Ledford and company will have FC playing hard. South Oldham scrimmaged both Waggener and Franklin Co. and there is no comparison between the two teams. Franklin Co. should win this one. Waggener will run the option and they struggled with it. South Oldham will open with Eastern and from what I see, Eastern is very athletic and fast. South Oldham lacks the overall team speed that Eastern has. Eastern looked very good in their scrimmages against John Hardin and Nelson Co.
  5. The next time our RB plays you guys we will let him sprout wings and fly over you guys! :flame:
  6. First, I want to say that FC was very well coached and played hard. But I can't believe you guys would report on the scrimmage the way you have. FC quarterback was not live for South Oldham, but South's QB was. Our kids didn't know whether to hit him or not for most of the night. Eventually, our players starting tackling him until the referees blew the whistle. If you notice FC's QB, he kept getting in the face of South's players and saying stuff until Coach Ledford yelled from the sideline that he would put the JV in if he didn't stop that stuff. He told the QB that he wasn't going to hit anyone and knock it off. The final score was 51-41 FC. South Oldham was leading 35-27 at halftime. In the 3rd. quarter South took the opening kickoff and drove down and scored with ease. The score was 41-43 FC before South put in some of their JV players at 7 minutes left in the game and took out their QB, RB, Center and 2 WR and on defense they took out their FS, LB and Nose when FC scored two other TD's then. South also had 3 of their starting offensive linemen, their fullback, and outside linebacker out for this game. South started the game with 4 sophomores on offense and 5 on defense. South's RB had 184 yards rushing with 2 long TD runs over 60 yards. South's starting QB threw for 3 TD's for 207 yards. FC did return two kickoff for TD's, and yes, I know this is part of the game, but it wasn't against South's defense. South also fumble the ball twice inside their 5 yardline and FC scored twice on this field position. Gentlemen, please don't try to say that FC was working on this and trying new things when you are taking away the good and the positive things that South did last night.
  7. South Oldham will need to get some linemen. They have 4 offensive linemen starters out and their FB and Linebacker.
  8. They scrimmaged Shawnee last week and will scrimmage Holy Cross this week. Not sure of the location.
  9. The BGP review was awesome. The Cats Pause got everything about South Oldham High wrong. It listed two players about being impact players for them, but one was a senior and graduated and the other one quit to focus on wrestling.
  10. Is it cheating or just unethical to steal a teams play call sheet that has the play and the #'s on the wristband of the plays and use them to call out your plays? The play sheet was taken from a head set box on our sideline and was taken from the box by the other teams chain gang during warm-ups and they gave them to their teams coaching staff.
  11. The AD from Henry Co. sat in on the interviews. I think his name was Gilley.?? Not sure of the name.
  12. After reading my post I would like to apologize for sounding like a referee basher. As much as I hate to admit I had never lost a game due to a referee's call. I just didn't want to sound like an official basher because I know how difficult their job is.
  13. On three separate occassions I tried to get the officials to explain a call to me while I had the rule book in hand. In all three cases, the refs (3 different ones) stated they don't have time to review every call from the rule book and one stated it isn't his responsibility to teach me the rules. I just wanted a rules clarification according to the wording in the book. P.S.--Dont ask for a grid of the field for who is responsible for making the call, because they always tell me it's not my call.
  14. School district and state rules were not followed. Nothing is amiss.:sssh:
