The enforcement of Title IX rules has got to have some affect on attendance. Boys programs are forced to play on non-marquee nights and times. more these days.
Just got back from Beale Street,
Having been to the Outback Bowl and multiple Music City Bowls, I was shocked to see how outnumbered UK fans were.
Hopefully, fans were in the hotel rooms or on there way down to Memphis tonight.
Will Big Blue Nation be at Liberty Bowl Stadium tomorrow?
I see your point and I think we are on the same page. Tonight was an excellent learning experience for them. Its always better to get the win and be able to learn some things about how to play as a team.
IMO Holmes isn't a young team. I would say it is still just December and they are still growing as a team. The top 6 players are 3 seniors and 3 juniors, i believe. They are learning how to play without Henderson.
TRice, don't forget that there wasn't a tip thanks to Pittman. Conner started the game up 2 and taking the ball out of bounds.
Pittman's technical was legit. He went above the rim and threw it down with one hand with some authority.
Conner always plays Holmes tough and makes them earn it. It was no different tonight. As said earlier, they played great defense, rebounded well and they were patient on offense.
The thread was about how the championships could be improved. I assumed that to mean whether that was by the KHSAA or the city.
The 2 games a day change would have to be done by the KHSAA and agreed upon by the host.
I'm not blaming security for doing their job, its the fault of the KHSAA which schedules the games so close to each other.
In Louisville local establishments weren't prepared for the crowd and I've ran into several restaurants that just seemed put out by having a crowd. IMO
I agree its brutal for those that have to work it all day for two days.
First game is at 11 am
- I like the idea of a 2x2x2 (Friday through Sunday). With a rotation on what class plays what day.
- Enough time between games for the champion to enjoy it. (Ever witness security running kids and parents off the floor at Rupp on a Saturday night in March, I haven't)
- Hope BG acknowledges the fans. Always seemed the people in Louisville just didn't care.
