I was hoping to hold out until April, but the yard was clumpy so I broke down and moved Sunday. I have three different riders and ear protection with a radio, so not a big deal really. It was better than spreading lime and aerating in the pastures all weekend. It looks better actually.

The national champion came out of the AAC just a couple of years ago...maybe three in UConn. It was a down year for the conference with Memphis collapsing in the last two months of the season and UConn rebuilding. However blaming the conference isn't useful. SMU and Cincinnati are consistently powers during the season and collapse in the tournament...look at their history. Nothing changes in the $$ world of the NCAA...the ACC could have all...

NC made some plays to win, and Arkansas didn't. However, I don't see how nothing was called before the putback when the NC player charged and took at least 5 steps and neither were called and NC extended their lead to 3. Inexcusable no-call.

There are levels within the divisions as well. The majors and mid-majors can be very different especially down the bench. There are a handful of very good D2 schools that have D1 capable players or players who transferred from D1, and these teams can compete with mid-majors or low to mid D-1 schools.

Agreed...it's like most measurements...it's hard to find a perfect one that fit's all scenarios. However, the risk is as rjs4470 mentions, that someone accepts this as a universal measurement and penalizes a person that is actually fit.

I am approaching it unscientifically. But when I am in shape....I'm not quite there right now... I am tall and lean, and my BMI says I am overweight. I do not believe it accounts for lean muscle mass...at least when I have seen it applied at health events.

I will come of a critical here, so be it. And sometimes this applies to me as well. A lot of people are overweight because they never deny themselves anything, and many of these same people will not make themselves uncomfortable with a bit of exercise. I notice at work....the overweight people seldom take the stairs. It is very much a lifestyle choice. I remember many years ago when I was still playing soccer, and I was playing in an...

I am happy to hear your son will be ok. That is very scary. Regarding drivers...I have found that people just don't care...many won't slow down for any reason...or they will barely slow down. There is no mystery why so many people are killed on our roads- horrible, aggressive, competitive, and just plain stupid drivers.

I played hockey for many years. Bar none, it is the fastest sport I ever played. There is a reason shifts are so short...you are basically booking it for 2 minutes, give or take, all out. One does get a little rest on defense if one is protecting the blue line otherwise you have to keep your speed up. BTW, that was a pretty bold move....

I have seen some pretty scary stories where snakes come up the toilet. This wasn't scary: A few years ago I walked into our downstairs rec. room and I could see the toilet in the adjoining bathroom I saw this dark blob against the side of the toilet from a distance, and I first thought mini-doomer2 or one of his friends had left a present of some kind..so I was getting prepared to be disgusted. I think the lady nailed it, and whether it is only 10% as some sources would say...that is 120,000,000 people, and it only took 19 to bring the US to its knees in 2001. And if this 120,000,000 is only 6,000,000...these are people who only want Jihad (sacred struggle) for Islamists...

Chilling is the right word. And, that case remains unsolved. I check every day hoping I will see new information or an arrest made in this case. I am wondering if the picture has been adequately circulated nationally. We have a local bank robbery, and half of a eyebrow shows up on a camera, and somebody recognizes the person, and they are arrested. What it makes me suspect is that there are too many leads and over too broad a geographical...

One of my absolute best friends was married (to a woman), had a child, later divorced and married a man. They are both fine people and have chosen to remain close to their church and Christianity. Of course it is their choice, but being gay didn't mean they had to give up something that was important to them.

It is depressing, but I think the number is low as well, and I am proud to say I am in the minority on this one although it cost me some coin a few years ago. I was at a mall in Myrtle Beach and backed into a van. (It jumped right behind me!) I waited until the owners from Illinois came out, and I gave them my info. Luckily they didn't gouge me. Just in the last year mini-doomer2"s car was hit ($800) and my truck got a ding in the door...

The solution is to realise that we are all one with God. This conception of God as the unity of substance of which we are all a part removes the need for churches with their 'high priests who talk to god'. In fact the manipulation of our natural religious nature by the church has caused immense harm to humanity. The truth is that God creates heaven on earth through this most remarkable evolution and ecology of life and Nature that sustains...

Secular humanism is not a new concept. And my earlier post is not responding to any particular post, but is merely an observation. For myself I don't have faith that an entity such as a government is infallible and capable in and of itself making good decisions regarding my welfare. The irony to me is that those who eschew religion are often willing to accede inordinate power to a central authority run by very fallible humans.

I dunno.... Just an observation, but it is ironic to me that those who are less likely to put their faith in a deity are those who are more likely to put their faith in government. Or maybe a discussion for another day.

This is great news, but as you probably know, not a matter of chance. In 2010 the countries where Tigers exist coalesced and set targets of doubling the population and enacted measures to recover the species which was down to 3,200. It is 3,890 which is the right direction, but there remains much still to be done.
